I havent been on here for a while (quite a few months) and have read a few posts. I have never attempted to mod before so i aint got a clue what im doing. I am interested in modding cod4 offline but am confused a bit. I will start from the beginning. I have the latest update and i have read that this is what is causing the problems. If i want to mod offline can i just clear the cache and use cod tool to get all the cheats to work or does it not work like that. sorry for being a noob. thanks guys.

I've never cleared my cache when I'm modding CoD4, if CoD Tool still works, then yes you can use it. I think CoD Tool also rehash and resigns your gamesave aswell. If you do need to rehash and resign it yourself, just use Modio.
Other than that, you should be fine. If you need any other help, just post here and I'll help you.

thanks for the reply. i used cod tool yesterday but only infinite health worked. just thought if i cleared cache and didnt update that it might make all of them work. thanks.

Try not to use lots of the mods at once, just use a few for each different level =]

thanks. also do i have to do it for every level. complete one level and save then rip savegame and edit then overwrite it. because i noticed that it stopped working after one level. thanks.

Load, up CoD4, get to the level you want, save and exit, put your profile on your computer, open it up in CoD Tool, do the mods you want, put it back on, play the level, when your on the next level, you'll have to do all that again, like save and exit, then mod, put it back on your HDD and so on. =]

It doesn't matter if your ethernet cable is plugged in or not, you ain't playing online..

But but.. I need help too. Well, when I mod my savegame, which is clean, the enemies never fire at me, or my team mates, and don't do anything, what is causing this? and infinite health never works for me, maybe because I go to resume game, save and quit, then select mission, and select right mission,so they fire at me, it just disables infinite health I guess, but I need help.

Single player isn't even patched... you can mod it online with the most recent patch. Just open your .svg in codtool, put on the stuff you want, save it, rehash it, and put it back on your hard drive. Every mission must be done like this. And if you save and quit during a mission, invincibility will be turned off.

You don't even need to delete the update for codtool mods at least you didn't need to before the .bind patch
