Hosting Games on your PC?

I was just in a private lobby where some guy was hosting a game through his PC. Everyone had four bar connection it was like a LAN, AMAZING connection. I just looked I can't find anything on this but hey, I'm half blind.

I found that it was a dedicated server. Are there any tutorials on this?

Umm, Ive got some online friends who actually have like the big tower filled with servers that's what I'm guessing enless you could use a dedi server if you could do it that way.

You have to sign up on that site and ask one of the owners to give you a invite code.

You can mod games. Its just a GOOD connection that is hosted by a bot so you can run perfect skrims.

Re: Hosting Games on your PC?

something gives me a feeling doing mods or "cracking" these servers would violate their terms of service and be illegal

Why did you sign up for this website if not to exploit something.....of course its against the terms of use...who cares.

So does this only work in private matches? or will it also allow you to have an amazing host in ranked provided the game chooses you as host? Which assuming this is as good as you say it should do most of the time.

NO dumbass, by violating THAT sites' rules, it would be illgal to do anything to them other than their sole purpose. You clearly don't understand how big of a leap it is from modding your 360 HDD files to modding a privately owned web server

NO there NOT SERVERS, there just xbox 360 that are lend out for free for fast hosting. the owner just has it rigged up so a pc sets the settings by emulating controller movements. so it still comes down to can you mod your 360?

NOT directly to you but its for everyone, this is a dead end for modding

I don't think CoD4 supports this. Some games such as Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising -if I remember correctly- will support PC hosts.

Re: Hosting Games on your PC?

Hey guys,
I am one of the owners of ReadyUp Servers. We found that we were getting traffic from here and I would like to explain a little more. We basically allow you to control an xbox through a website with functions like invite players, change gametype, etc. Once you are in the game and invite people you can play on what is pretty close to a LAN connection. Everyone has 4 bars for the most part and we have had people playing from japan and UK with no complaints as well. If you would like to check it out, visit our site and register on the forums. (we are still building the site, so bear with us on that)

We are getting ready for a free for all tournament this weekend hosted by gamebattles that is using our servers. It is a free tournament so sign up and check it out.
