Is it dead or is it still kicking?

As many of you can probably tell, COD4 is no as popular as it used to be and the fact that it is dieing, is apparent because a simple look at the number of people online is only a fraction of what it used to be. Now it may not seem so, but I can tell from talking to my friends and other players online that the good old days of kicking back and railing on some people with your newest gun is disappearing at a rapid pace. Now the discussion here will be do you agree with that opinion. The second question is do you think that people are simply done with the game or do you think that they are simply more entertained with new releases such as BF:Bad Company or other appealing titles?
This thread is simply to see what others feel and is not meant to be a thread on how crappy/good BF:Bad Company is so dont do it and if that happens i am asking the administrators to remove this thread.

i personally havent played cod for like 3 weeks. I havent really been into gaming lately and more of my friends play halo so thats what im doing when i play.

I played CoD4 on PC till like level 30 and then 36 on 360 when I got it later, and since then I don't play it (yeah I know those ranks are nothing).

ya halo 3 is becoming popular again, personally i dont know why but that is just my opinion. The games i am getting into now are rock band and such and i think that there are just to many war games out there and i have played them for the past twelve years ever since sarge's army on the nintendo 64

ha ya long time ago so i think that i am just done with them. But to get back to the topic i think that there are just to many war games flooding the market and that people are just getting overloaded with it and are getting sick of them.

All of my friends on LIVE are playing Call of Duty 4. It kicked GTA IV's *** and Rainbow Six, and Battlefield Bad Company. I still play it anyway, I was thinking of getting Frontlines though just for a change.

Halo is boring. It's just that now COD is filled with incompetent bafoons. I can make up for 1-2 people sucking *** on my team, but I guess going 38-6 and losing doesn't make up for 5 people tossing salad.

ya cod did get repetitive and i mean in bf you can destroy basically anything which in my opinion alters gameplay to the "nth degree". what this does is eliminate sniper hides and such and doesn't allow people to simply camp behind a wall waiting for you to walk by over and over again

I played it for like 3 days total. So..yeah. I moved onto some other games. Still an awesome game though.

I used to play halo 3 and cod4 since release everyday for at least 2 hours. I've been at my 10th prestige for at least 3 months and i know everything about the game so it kinda got boring... same with halo 3. So yeh it's dieing

. At the moment i'm playing Battlefield: bad company wich rocks until gears of war 2 comes out, that won't die for another 2 years of it's release... i mean c'mon people still play gears 1 :o

I sold mine when GTA IV came out as it was boring before that and i wanted the money

The game died a long time ago for me as its so F*cking repetative with the online.

dude cod4 is not dead, and it is not dieing. sure its popularity has gone down, but all the people that i talk to still play it and enjoy it.

It's not dead it is just not as big as a game as it was when it came out.

yea i dont think that a game can be called dead when over 100k people are still playing it
