Bridging with a router - picture tutorial

Let me know what you think of this tutorial.

The person you give host can also use it to lag opponents out or stand-by/mod

I prefer to use bridging as a way to prevent being cheated but it can go either way.

First you will need my pack of programs you will use to bridge:
Download Here

You will also need:

Router (I use netgear but this will work for all)

3 Ethernet Cables (1. DSL/Cable Modem to Router, 2. Router to computer, 3. Router to Xbox)

Now How To Bridge:

1. Set up your router so that the first port goes to your PC and the second to your Xbox.

2. Install both zone alarm pro and cain & abel from the pack you downloaded

3. Use the zone alarm keygen to get the full version of zone alarm

4. Open zone alarm and select the "Firewall" tab. Turn both Internet zone security and trusted zone security off. (for now)
Click the image to open in full size.

5. Switch to the "Zones" tab and change the network that is there to internet with the "Edit" button.
Click the image to open in full size.

6. Next add both of bungies IPs (65.59.234.161 and 65.59.234.162) as trusted with the "Add" button then IP address.
Click the image to open in full size.
Click the image to open in full size.

7. When this is done "Zones" will look like this
Click the image to open in full size.

8. Now log into xbox live, minimize zone alarm, and open Cain & Abel
NOTE: Cain and Abel is considered harmful by most antivirus programs but it is perfectly safe. Disable your antivirus or allow Cain & Abel before you proceed.

9. When you open Cain & Abel it will look like this and Click Configure
Click the image to open in full size.

10. A window will open. Select your internet device (it will be the one with the highest speed) Also check the 2 boxes shown.
Click the image to open in full size.

11. Restart Cain & Abel and when it re-opens click the "Sniffer" tab then the "+" symbol
Click the image to open in full size.

12. A window will pop up and and simply click "OK"
Click the image to open in full size.

13. You will now see a list of the ports on your router that looks similar to the picture below. If you have a netgear router and connected your PC to the first port and your Xbox to the second this will be easy. Otherwise you will have to determine which IP is which. If one says "Microsoft Corporation" or is blank The one above it is your router. Remember those 2 IPs
Click the image to open in full size.

14. Now click the "APR" Tab. Then click the top grid. Then click the "+" button.
Click the image to open in full size.

15. A window will pop up. You must select 2 IPs (the ones you determined in step 13) On the left side your router IP. On the right side your xbox live port IP. If you use a netgear router and you connected in the right order (PC uses first port and Xbox Live uses second) the IP for the left should end in 1.1 and the right should end in 1.2. If you see a similar order with another router the first will go on the left and the second on the right. When you have selected 2 IPs click OK.
Click the image to open in full size.

16. Now click the yellow circle on the toolbar and wait for 5-10 seconds. IPs should start to appear on the bottom grid (you must be signed into xbox live) If 65.59.234.161 and sometimes 65.59.234.162 (Bungie's IPs) show up in the bottom grid you selected the right IPs in step 15. If not simply remove the top IP and try different combinations by repeating step 15 and the start of 16 until Bungie's IPs appear.
Click the image to open in full size.
Click the image to open in full size.

17. Now join the party of who you want to bridge (they must have made the party and be party leader). A 3rd IP will appear in Cain & Abel which will be that of your friends. If there is more then one person in the party there will be more then one IP that appears. The IP with the most packets is the person who can be bridged host.
Click the image to open in full size.

18. Open up Zone Alarm again and add the IP of the party leader as trusted.
Click the image to open in full size.
Click the image to open in full size.

19. When you are done it should look something like the picture below and click "Apply"
Click the image to open in full size.

20. Now go back to the Main Tab and raise the "Internet Zone Security" to "high"
Click the image to open in full size.

Ask you friend if he can hear you. If he can he has been successfully bridged.

I have found that some firewalls can interfere with this so if your having trouble turn whatever firewall your using off while your bridging.

Simply enter matchmaking with your bridged friend and you will never be cheated and your team will have an edge.

If you find this guide helpful or have a question simply post or pm me.
