Bridging with 2 ethernet ports ::.

The Ultimate Bridging Guide
Written By: Unsanitary

Bridging without a router

What you Need:
  • 2 Ethernet Ports - 1 port should come on your motherboard, another NIC card can be purchased at any computer store (ex. best buy, circuit city, compusa).
  • Ethernet cable - Not always necessary if you have 2 crossover cables
  • Crossover Cable
Before you get started:

You should already have your ethernet port installed inside your computer and have the software for it installed on your computer properly.

Setup:

First you need to connect your modem to the ethernet port that your computer originally came with using an ethernet (or crossover) cable. If you have a router that you would like to use, you can connect your modem to your router than router to the ethernet port on your computer. Now use your crossover cable to connect your new ethernet port with your xbox. Now you need to bridge the two connections together.

Click start > control panel > network connections and you should see two local area connections. You should see two connections now, both should be titled local area connection. Highlight both by holding control and clicking on both connections then right click on one and click bridge connections. Once they are bridged your connection should now be bridged.

If you are having problems, use this method:Forcing Connections with CMD

Forcing host

What you Need:
Setting up Zone-Alarm Pro:

Once you have Zone-Alarm Pro and the keygen downloaded, you have to install them. To setup ZAP for forcing host, open up the firewall tab on the left. Make sure the "new connection" is under your internet zone. If it's not, right click on it and click edit then in the zones tab change it to internet. You also need to add bungie's IP. Towards the bottom, click the button that says add and then click "IP address." Make sure it adds it to trusted, and type this IP in: 65.59.234.161. Bungie's IP is now in your trusted and you can log onto XBL with a bridged connection.

Setting up Commview:

Commview is used to find the IPs of the people you see on your connection. Install commview. Near the top you should see a drop-down menu. Make sure it's on MAC bridge miniport. To make it so commview only shows IPs that are xbox-related, click the IF rules tab. On the left side, click ports. Enable port rules. Under action, leave it as captured. Under add record, click from and type 3074 then add the port. You should now see only xbox-related IPs in your commview screen.

Forcing Host:

In order to force host to someone, you need to join there party on xbox live. The person you want to give host has to be the person who created the party. Once you're in their party, open up commview and find their IP. Their IP should be the only IP showing besides bungie's and the 192.168 one. Open up your ZAP and go to the firewalls tab and click zones. Add your friends IP address to your trusted zone. Now click the main tab and put your internet firewall on high and your trusted firewall on medium. Your friend will now have host.

Booting people from a game

In order to boot people from a game, you have to be host. During the game, you should see a bunch of IPs in commview. Open up ZAP and go to fiewall and click zones. Add an IP from commview to your blocked zone. Go to the main tab in your firewall zone and move your internet firewall to medium, and your trusted firewall to medium. Watch the game screen and hold back and you will see someone lagging out. If it's not the person you wanted to lag out, move your internet firewall back to off. Continue trying IPs until you find the right one. You can lag more than one person out at a time but make sure you don't lag more than half the other team out or you won't gain any experience for your win.

Manual Team Standby

To team standby, you need everyone who you don't want to lag in your trusted list. It helps if you add them to your trusted list before the game starts by finding their IPs in commview or asking them what they are. When the game starts and you're ready to standby, move your internet firewall up to high for 2 seconds, then down to medium for 3 then up for 2 then down for 3 etc. Repeat the process and everyone should be laggy except for those you have in your trusted list.

Note: You will not be able to play while you are doing this unless you can move your firewall while playing. You'll have to rely on your teammates.

Auto Team Standby

Auto team standbying has the exact same affects as manual team standbying but with auto team standby you don't have to do anything after activating it. You will be able to play while you're standbying.

What You Need:
Auto-standbying:

Once you have the auto-standby program you will see an up and a down tab. Type 2 in the up tab, and 3 in the down tab (times may vary). Don't click start yet. Now open ZAP and go to your main firewall tab. Click start on your autostandby program and move your firewall up to high then down to medium. Let go of your mouse and the firewall should start moving up and down on it's own. If you hit blue screen, adjust the times a bit until you find a good setting for your connection. Also, if you hit blue screen, make sure you stop your standby so you don't lag out.

Lag-Out Glitch

The lag-out glitch can be very useful if you do it right. The idea behind it is if you and everyone on your team lag-out of the game at the exact same time you will gain experience and the other team will lose experience. You have to go into a game-type, we'll use double team for example, and at the exact same time lag yourself out. You can do this by hitting stop on ZAP if you bridge, or unplugging your modem. Use the in-game clock to make sure your time is EXACT. Right when you hit blue-screen and it says "re-establishing connection", unstandby. If you do this properly, you will gain experience. You have to make sure your timing is EXACT for this to work.

Another useful lag-out glitch is having one person on your team lag themself out (or get bridged out) and then make sure he's party leader (if he wasn't the leader, have the party leader make him party leader). He then boots everyone out of the party and nobody loses any experience.

Bridge a 2nd xbox on your connection host

To do this you need to have two xbox's on the same connection. 1 of the xbox has to be bridged. You need to find the 2nd xbox's IP address and then add it to your trusted list in ZAP. Move your internet firewall to high and trusted firewall to medium as if you're bridging someone else host. The 2nd xbox should now get host. This is very useful if the 2nd xbox can mod. You won't be able to team standby with the 2nd xbox because it isn't bridged, but you can use original standby.

Circle Boosting

You gotta have at least 3 bridgers. I'll use circling at rank 40 as an example since it's pointless to circle before that.

Get 5 rank 40's and 3 low ranks, any rank works. 4 of the 40's will be on the winning party and the 40 with the most experience joins the 3 losers. One person on the losing team has to be bridging and have every single person in both parties on his trusted list. One person on the winning team also needs to have everyone on his trusted list. Both bridgers should ALWAYS have their firewalls on high.

The 40 with the most experience loses first, the 40 with the second most experience loses second and so on. It's not really that hard. Just make sure that's there are 3 bridgers, 2 of which are winners. They should always have their firewalls on high and you won't have any problems.

Standbying yourself host

First of all, you need to make sure you created the party. You can have more people in the party, but your chances are lessened at having host with the more people you have in the party. Make sure you get host boxes when you begin searching for games. You can put your firewall on high until you get boxes then move it down if you need to, or just wait for boxes. RIGHT when you hit step 3 and all the names disappear from your screen and it says configuring game, hit stop on your ZAP (or standby on your modem). Leave it standbying until you see all the names appear, and the map appear then hit stop again to restore internet access, or unstandby on your modem. If you did it right, you'll get host. I'd suggest practicing in training because it is a little difficult to get the timings completely correct.

Re: Bridging with 2 ethernet ports ::.

can someone give me some more info about the lag out glitch? can i do this by myself in double team with my own 2 accounts? do all i have to do is go into the game with my two accounts and hit the stop button on my ZAP? can someone finalize this for me?

all you need to do is set up the wires to ur xbox. install the necessary drivers. (for me i use a trentnet usb to ethernet port). once the necessary drivers are installed the lights on ur device leading to ur xbox should be blinking. once thats done, go to local area connections. you should have local area connection, and local area connection 2. bridge those connections and you should be ready to go.
