| ION What is ION ... ION is an All In One (AIO) Network Tool for XBox Live (Halo2) and Zone Alarm. ION has the following tools built in: 1) Friends List IP Address (Network/Packet Sniffer like Ethereal, CommView, Analyzer, etc.) 2) External IP Detector (to tell you your public IP Address) 3) Auto Standby (for Zone Alarm) 4) Zone Alarm IP Insert (for inserting IP Addresses) Why not use other programs ... You can if ya want. ION Installation: Double click on the setup.exe and follow the instructions. That’s it, you’re done with installation. ION Uninstall: Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and select ION. Using ION ... Click on the ION icon in the location as to where your installed it. Usually ... Start Button/All Programs/ION Network Tools/ION Main Screen of ION: ![]() Using Friends List IP Address (FLIP): FLIP is a stripped down (Layer 2 Tap) Network Analyzer (or packet sniffer). FLIP looks at data packets (tcp/udp protocol) on port 3074 for XBL traffic. If a packet is to/from port 3074, FLIP records the ip address only once and displays it. Once you have captured ip addresses, you can name them. The next time you sniff, the ip address will have the name(s) you gave them before. This makes identifying your friends quickly, thus, makes identifying your foes even quicker !!! Because FLIP is a Layer 2 Tap network analyzer (captures all data on the network segment, not just what’s flowing through the local NIC), it requires a low level NDIS driver. WinPcap is a great driver an is freely available, no registering, etc. and is very stable under Windows OS’s. You will need to download and install WinPcap before installing ION and using FLIP. WinPcap can be downloaded from: WinPcap, The Packet Capture and Network Monitoring Library for Windows At time of writing, version 3.1 is the version you should download. Starting FLIP for the First Time ... You must select a network adapter (NIC) that you want to sniff. Click the Settings Menu and the Settings dialog box will appear: ![]() You will see the Generic dialup adapter selected, this is the first adapter in your registry and the default one FLIP will use (this is not always the case, who really knows what will show up first). Select the network adapter that you wish to sniff. If you have created a Bridge and are Bridging, select it or select the network adapter of your choosing. ![]() Once you have selected the network adapter you wish to sniff, click the OK button to save the setting. Capturing data packets (sniffing) ... Click the Start Button and FLIP will start capturing data packets and display them. ![]() Click the Stop Button to stop capturing data packets. Naming IP Addresses ... Now that you have captured ip addresses, you want to Name them. Highlight the ip address and double click on it. The Identify Friend dialog box will appear. ![]() Type the name that you wish to associate with the ip address. When done, click the OK button to save the Identity association. You will notice that once the dialog box closes that the ip address still has UNKNOWN associated with it. Why, FLIP is still displaying the last capture session. ![]() The next time you start sniffing, FLIP will display the Name you associated with the ip address. ![]() Inserting a "Trusted" IP Address into Zone Alarm ... Select the ip address that you want to trust and click the ZA Trust button ... ![]() and then click on the Zone Tab on Zone Alarm ... ![]() After a 3 second delay, you will see all the information has been inserted (pasted) in the Zone Tab of Zone Alarm. ![]() Inserting a "Blocked" IP Address into Zone Alarm ... Select the ip address that you want to block and click the ZA Block button ... ![]() and then click on the Zone Tab on Zone Alarm ... ![]() After a 3 second delay, you will see all the information has been inserted (pasted) in the Zone Tab of Zone Alarm. ![]() Using External IP Detector: To see what your external IP Address is, click the OK button ... ![]() Using Auto Standby: Auto Standby is for Zone Alarm use only. Specify the Up Time (how long to hold the firewall high) and the Down Time (how long to hold the firewall low). ![]() Click the Start Button ... On the Firewall/Main Tab, click the slider control in the Internet Zone Security/High section ... ![]() From this point on, you should see the slider slide up and down based on the duration you selected for your Up and Down times. Depending on your connectivity speed, you will need to adjust the settings to prevent the "BLUE SCREEN" from appearing. When you are done, click the Stop button ... ![]() Using Zone Alarm IP Insert: Inserting Trusted IP Addresses: Enter Name and IP Address that you wish to insert into Zone Alarm. You can enter up to four (4) at a time. ![]() Once you have entered all the names and ip addresses, click the Trust button ... and then click on the Zone Tab on Zone Alarm ... ![]() After a 3 second delay, you will see all the information has been inserted (pasted) in the Zone Tab of Zone Alarm. ![]() Inserting Blocked IP Addresses: Enter Name and IP Address that you wish to insert into Zone Alarm. You can enter up to four (4) at a time. ![]() Once you have entered all the names and ip addresses, click the Block button ... and then click on the Zone Tab on Zone Alarm ... ![]() After a 3 second delay, you will see all the information has been inserted (pasted) in the Zone Tab of Zone Alarm. ![]() Download ION: Download Mirror (.)(.) | I want to let all of you know, I am not ignoring your statements or questions. For some reason(s), my home ip addresses get blocked when viewing or posting. I am sending this via my work vpn to let you all know. Once I get back in the office (since I can not do this from home), I’ll address all your statements or questions. For some unknown reason(s), my work ip addresses dont get blocked. Please forgo the reasons as to why my home ip adresses are being blocked. I have spoke to Azzid and he is working on permanent resolve. l8r, jok3rm0n | ||||||

| Per your question … 1) I have never been banned for bridging. This is hogwash, if one understands ip forwarding/routing, etc., then one would know that the WHOLE internet (call it what it really is, multiple small networks, that are public) works as “bridging” different networks to make one big network. 2) I have been banned for standbying until “only” after enough people complain. Items 1 and 2 are NOT addressed by some “super duper” new programming the idiots at bunky or mickysoft have done. What idiots have started doing since the 360 debut, is doing reverse lookup from another ip’s with in the same class C (this is their range of public ip’s that have been assigned to them). By me including their complete subnets (class c’s) as well as the MS Hotmail (this is used for the passport/windows live verification) and LimeLights networks, they can not pull a fast one with a reverse lookup to see if I’m doing anything funny. This is just my lowly 2 cents as to what is going on. If you knew what I did for a living, ya might just halfway believe what is state is true … and NO, if do not work for the idiots. l8r, jok3rm0n
