| if your routers ip is 192.168.2.1 your ip you set e.g. 192.168.2.2 is being used by your xbox or another pc so try e.g. 192.168.2.5 | ||||||

| Get you manual out for your router and it should say something like, once you have installed you router go to E.G. 192.168.2.1 on your browser to configure your internet settings | ||||||

| Here's the deal. If you use a Linksys router, your router's IP is going to be 192.168.1.1 If there is an IP conflict and your router is doing DHCP (giving out IP addresses), then one of your machines/XBOX is probably set to static (not receiving an IP automatically, it's manually set to something). So check the computers and XBOX to see - Computers, click start, run. Type "cmd" (on XP, on 98 it's "command") then type "ipconfig /all" and it will give you your IP address on that local machine. For your XBOX, look in your network settings from your dashboard and make sure there isn't a conflict with one of the machines. I would think one of your devices is probably set to static if there is a conflict Oh yeah, D-Link routers are 192.168.0.1. Make sure you're on the same subnet as the router or else it won't work (ie - Linksys - 192.168.1.X D-Link - 192.168.0.X) Last edited by JoeMal; 03-18-2007 at 10:27 AM.. | Here's how to do it go into network connections: ![]() Right click your bridge then go into properties the you will see this connection uses the following items ![]() Then click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then you should get this: ![]() Click Use the following IP address and use the following DNS servers then it should look like this: ![]() In IP address put: 192.168.1.4 or (higher if it still doesn't work) then click subnet mask and it should already give you a IP (255.255.255.0). Then in default gateway put your IP to access your router in for you it is (192.168.1.1)and me(192.168.2.1). In Preferred DNS Server put (192.168.1.1)for me(192.168.2.1) and then click ok: ![]() Then click ok again and it should then take you back to the network connections. There you have it then it should work. If you have any problems PM me im happy to help. Make sure you have your xbox on when your doing this and test xbox live connection everytime when you change the IP to see if it works. Tutorial By Se7eN MaStA (Splinter Hells)
