1 - bruteforcing would work, but too bad the whole topic is if WE can get it, WE would be dead by then, therefore WE couldnt get it
2 - you can ask doesnt mean you will get it, they will say no, duh, so that means that is an impossibility
3 - thats not flying, thats not even soaring, thats called falling to the ground through the force of the earths gravitational pull, "flying" is being aerodynamic enough to push your body foward in the atmosphere without losing your height above ground, going against gravity
so... ya...

What if one of us had a terminal disease, the make a wish foundation gave us a wish, and we wished for the key, and got it? ROFL

I still say we hold one of them hostage. It might work, and then I would be the lizard queen (king, actually, but whatever)

The key is not out. You and halob0y can pretend it is, but it isn't, and you'll never get it.

Alright, I have actually have a question this time. The key is 2048 digits long, and it could contain numbers, letters, symbols, and all this other stuff. Am I correct?

Re: Question about RSA 2048 BitKey

the key is 2048 BITS. This translates to 256 ASCII standard characters, or roughly 617 decimal digits long. While it is still a number (aka more maths!), remember that any number can be respresented in any base such as hexadecimal or even base-64 for example.

also, for future reference, everyone please stop making new threads with your "questions". I don't care (none of us really do) if you just got here and didn't have time to look around first, but for christ's sakes, if you wanna get into halo 3 modding, you better be able to do a simple search first. Everything you ask has been answered before about 40 times.

im just kinda thinking out loud here, and only going of what i have seen in movies, but would it be possible to make a program that would automatically test all of the possible combonations for the key. I know if this was possible that it would still take a very long time.

Re: Question about RSA 2048 BitKey

I actually have one of those completed, I could send you a copy if you would like. The main problem with that is it takes longer than actually factoring a number. Even with the most advanced method for doing so (mine eliminates about (n / (e^2)) results before the bruteforce where e is the first exponent and n is your modulus), it still takes a very long time to bruteforce even smaller keys (remember the exponential growth with the rsa still directly relates to the time it takes to crack).
So while it is possible and has been implemented, it is still not feasible.

Well think of it this way. Atleast the people are giving ideas out. Even if they're dumb ideas, they're still trying out new ways (well atleast new to them). Just remember that if you say it's impossible, then it's impossible for you. Those who are determined to find a way will find a way, and there's really nothing to stop it.
Also remember that in the rare case that someone found the key and created a resigner, it would never be leaked. This is because something of the such would create quite the show like on halo 2. The best bet if we ever hope to mod is to find an exploit and use that. Preferably a critical exploit (although the chances of one like that is about 0.0001%) where microsoft cannot patch it.

Re: Question about RSA 2048 BitKey

lol.... Why is it not possible to make a program, and give it out to many people. One side would start at 0000000000000**etc. and the other would start at 9999999999999999**etc. Now if everyone in the modding scene had this, we could have each person assigned to a different part of numbers, for example the first person would go from 000000**etc. to 000500**etc. Then the next person would go from 000500 to 100000, and so on. I know the intervals would have to be smaller, but I think theres enough people around here to get that done. (In the thousands)

Re: Question about RSA 2048 BitKey

It's a lot more complex than that nickcas... Worldwide security company's with a huge amount of technology and computers were not able to successfully able to crack 1024-bit RSA let alone 2048-bit... It's not going to happen with the size of the modding community.
