That DAMN helicopter

By far, Helicopters are the CHEESIEST part of COD4... No matter where you are, shooting or not, they can get you. Most of the time, its with 1-2 shots too...

Between houses; dead. Through the roofs/ceiling; dead. Ghillied up on the ground; dead. Hiding in a corner; dead. Laying by a blown up car; dead. Its the worst EVER. So annoying.

For as good as this game is, there are a lot of terrible flaws...

-helicopter unfair
-lack of affect from air strikes (prett much useless, unless on Wetworks)
-random frag grenades... too effective
-spawn kills
-lack of respawn places in each map/can't spawn with team
-being entered into matches that have started/near the end (400+ points)
-not migrating host when he/she quits
-maps too small/close quarters

I know that seems like a lot of gripes/complaints, but these are things that bother me consistently throughout every match I play... hopefully, they adress "some" of these issues between World at War and COD5...

I pretty much have the worst LUCK in this game, ever. I rarely EVER get a kill with a random grenade...I get maybe 3 kills with martyrdom a game (MAYBE) on headquarters...ThePope gets 3 kills with 1 martyrdom... It's like WTF..

heh I hate HQ games on shipment =( It's constant barrages of airstrikes, and the enemy helicopter is always up there. One of my last games, i swear 80% of the time i was standing there with a white screen because of all the F*cking flash grenades. Also, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you azzid, I always get my *** served to me on a silver platter when they have a helicopter, but when i have one, i get mabey 2 kills with it if im lucky.

The helicopter targets you based on a few factors. For example, if you have an LMG or an RPG, the helicopter will target you over someone who has an SMG or a sniper. Also, the higher your score in the game, the more it will target you. It combines these factors, along with distance from the chopper, and maybe a few other things I might be missing, and the person with the best criteria for largest threat becomes the helicopter's "primary target"

Edit: Forgot that shooting it puts up your threat level by a lot, and you will almost always get the chopper shooting right back at you.

Edit 2: I would say using an SMG or sniper, not having RPGs as your perk 1, and not shooting at the chopper make your chances of not being targeted much better. However, the number 1 player on the chopper's opposing team is often targeted, regardless of what they have equipped.

The RPGs and M60 make you one of the highest on the heli's priority list, so unless you can shoot it down, you're in trouble.

well doesn't it help that if i use lets say a P90, im usually the one it prefers to kill? The worst times are on backlot, where it will shoot me through the ****ing walls i swear, or on weworks where it's first target is me as im under the bridge while everyone else is wide open. Azzid, I'm your competitor for the helicopter's biggest target

haha I wish there was stats on number of copters called against you and number of times you've died from those copters. I'd also like to see how many I've called and how many people mine have killed. I know mine doesn't kill too many people, if at all.

And about the threat level...I usually NEVER have an LMG. I love my p90 and my mp5. Shotties have become my new found love as well lol. So I don't know why I keep getting targeted. Even on overgrown when I'm sniping...I swear I got killed 3 times in a row...and the first time was right as the copter was entering the map lol I couldn't believe it.

But I guess if I'm kicking the other team's a**, that would be why I'm getting targeted and forrrest isn't lol

Seriously guys? Hiding in buildings? I never see people hiding in buildings when the helicopter is out...that is not a solution to this problem.
