thats a hint a bungie employee gave out about unlocking recon armor....
this is still a myth (bungie might be messing with us) i've also read its something to do with the campaign level The Covenant.
EDIT: i also found on a another bungie employee that they have done "The Covenant" with IWBYD and Cow Bell skulls on also alone and killed friendlys(Bungie Employee GT: Recon Number 54)

Beat the level covenant with no meta scoring on and 2 skulls

which is Grunt brithday party and Cowbell skull

Now look at these guys stats

Notice how these guys did the level alone and for some reason in the Carnage report they have killed one Marine(Friendlies Betrayed)

i believe theres a way a secret why, but thats why bungie employees have the flame and people who get rewarded recon dont get flames

You can not get it yourself.

There's a way to get Recon, But there's no way you can get it.

Pretty much they are saying what they always say.. YOU CAN'T GET RECON!

doesn't it help to know that it has been proven you cannot unlock it? There are proven checks in the xex (which basically say you can only have it if it connects to the server and the server says OK for Recon).

wow last i heard about getting recon w/out bungies consent is somehow enabling an 'unsigned file' on your profile or disc or something, what the dude said about their server saying ok is true, but its on the disc, you can mod a video and give yourself recon, but theres plenty of modders working on getting it at least offline, wich i doubt is possible, if it needs to be enabled through XBL, so unless bugnie makes new armor and makes recon free we're not gonna have it, which they're mos def not working on making recon for everyone
