Well, it's quite simple actually.

Step 1:
Mod the Halo 3 troop hog inside The Pit.

Step 2:
Destroy the Troop Hog so it respawns.

Step 3:
Get into the driver's seat (not the side seat, only the driver's will work).
Now press all of the 360 controller buttons at the same time. You must NOT let go of any button or it will all be ruined and you will have to restart everthing. Every 2 hours the troop hog cage will move up 2 inches. You must hold it for 12 consecutive hours for the cage to completely break off.


Remember no matter how long it takes, don't give up!!!!

Step 4: Profit???

i just made my first mod and i got it back on my HDD but when i go to play my mod all i get is a black screen and the map never comes up. Any suggestions?

You tried to spawn something that isn't "allowed".

Hi I am a bit of a NOOB so bear with me,

I Have extracted the .map file from the con but i also need the maps folder to edit it.

problem is i don't know where the halo 3 maps folder is or how to obtain the halo 3 map files

Please Help.

Im new to modding, but I want to impress my friends with cool maps, so I decided to get the Datel Tranfer Kit. I used Xport360 to access my usermap, and went through the process of hexing it with the idents found in Johnson app. I rehashed it and resigned it and put it back onto my memory card.

Heres where the problem is:

I poped in the mem card into my Xbox, transfered the modded map from my mem card to my hard drive, and then booted up Halo 3. I go into custom games to see that my map (AvaMOD1) is not showing up next to the "Avalanche" map list. I tried clearing my cache with no avail, and am thoroughly stumped. I know for a fact that it is on my hard drive, but I canno't access through Halo.

Please Help.

If you moved it to your memory card, it's not on your Hard Drive, it's on your memory card.

No, I transfered the modded map from my computer to my mem card, and then used the Xbox Memory Manager on my console to move the map from my mem card to my HDD. I see it on my HDD, but it will not show up on my in-game maps list.

Try viewing the usermaps on your memory card via Halo 3.

if you have more then one account on your hardrive try checking those accounts. you may have placed it within the folder for another account.

hey this is my first time back in awhile (360 overheated !) but i was hoping to find a good tutorial when i came back and BAM! i saw this and its the best ive seen thank you for making it!!!!

ps:i also gave you a thanks!


alright i just tried it i only have 1 problem when i try to open it with sandbox it says unhandled exeption hass occured etc.

can anyone help?

Right so in Sandbox you have to set a folder with all of the Halo 3 .map files in it.

Where can I get these files, are they on the HDD or do I need to download them from somewhere?

you can noramly get them from a diffrent web site but i can not find it at the moment soo use this link to get the .map files All .map files (unmodded)
