Question Wireless Controller Problem

I have 4 controllers, 2 black, 1 blue & 1 pink. The blue is my favorite and most used, until now. A few weeks ago I took my wireless headset and blue controller to my cousins house. I used my controller to play Halo on his 360 with him. Synced up fine to his 360. After returning to my house, my controller refused to connect to my 360. Even if i hit the button of the front of the 360 and the little one on the controller, the lights spin on both, then all 4 blink on both, then all 4 go out on my 360 and all 4 continue to blink on my controller. My other 3 controllers work just fine. I have tried syncing it at least 50 times. I have tried all 3 of my other battery packs fully charged, tried plugging it it with the play & charge (with and without a battery pack) & tried using normal AA batteries.

Here's where it gets interesting. Yesterday, I went to my cousin's house again and figured just for kicks I'd take my blue controller and see if it would work on his 360. Turned it on, worked just fine. Plugged my 360 in and tried to use the controller, wouldn't connect. Plugged his back in, worked just fine again on his. Then I took the controller to another 360 in the house which it has never been hooked up to and tried to get it to connect. It does the same thing on that one as it does on mine.

Basically, what it looks like to me is that my controller has memorized my cousin's 360 and now refuses to connect to any other. This is really annoying since the controller itself is less than 2 months old, otherwise I would have trashed it from the beginning.

Anyone have any ideas / suggestions?

Re: Wireless Controller Problem

Sounds like something got messed up with the RF board in the controller and the way it chooses channels to use. The controller will use different channels depending on the congestion on a certain channel.

If you have a WiFi network try going into the router and changing the channel (from like 2.45GHz to 2.42GHz). Cordless phones will mess with it too if you have 2.4GHz phones.

Re: Wireless Controller Problem

Thanks for the input. My cordless phones are 5.4ghz so I have no need to worry about them. My wireless network is set to auto scan but I'll try playing with them. Although, this weekend when I discovered that my controller would connect to my cousins and not mine, I had my 360 sitting on top of his and was flipping the power and HDMI cables back and forth to test.
