$600 is the in the range of a Blackberry or Windows Mobile device no-commitment price.
I don't see why everyone is so shocked.
It's because normally people don't buy Blackberry or WinMo devices without a commitment.

I really want to know if AT&T Premier accounts get discounts on the phone. I'd guess not, but my mom's business has an agreement with AT&T and gets like a 15% discount on equipment and monthly plans.
