How to Remove Updates from your games by h2o pete

What it does

All downloaded game updates will be removed. So if you have downloaded an auto-update for a game, in order to play it on Xbox Live you will need to re-download it. User game saves, profiles, demos, videos, etc. are not deleted during the process.

How to do it

Go to the Xbox Dashboard, select the System Blade, and select Memory.
Highlight the HD symbol and press Y.
Press X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X.

You will see a confirmation message to confirm system maintenance, proceed.

Why is this Useful?

It allows you to remove all updates from games, that may have stopped glitching for example in Halo 2. A disadvantage is that you won't be able to play on Xbox Live, unless you have updated the console.

Can you do this for Xbox360 so you can do game saves and stuff that the updates fixed?

It's for the Xbox 360 and works on the Xbox 360 and it will remove updates so do what you want with it

It only removes updates from games not the 360 system update.

No, because its hard coded.

God, i hated that oblivion update, i used to duplicate everything lol. Saved space in stash, only needed one of each alchemy ingredient lol, made it look more organized

I haven't played Forza 2 since the day it required an update and Turn 10 developers reduced all accounts greater than $20 million down to $20 mil. I lost over $980 mil. In addition, when i first thought it was a glitch i restored from xchange360 and was then told that the account was invalid due to modification and must be erased and restarted. Bull.... Is there a way to go back and undo the update on this game?

I had over $1billion before Turn 10's update. Then in their stupid rationale to equalize the playing field the update reduced my balance to only $20 mil. I don't want to do that many races again to get the cash to buy all remaining cars. I thought something was wrong initially and reloaded from a game save. It then told me game has been modified and must be erased. I haven't played since. Will this restore it to prior state?

When Forza 2 did their last update, I lost tons of cash, and when I restored from Xchange 360, it told me that my account had been modified and must delete. Will this let me restore that account?
