trying to softmod xbox using this tut. (thank you) After hours of trying I need some help.
I’ve followed the tut to the point of doing the hotswap, booted to the xboxHDM and selected 1. I see on screen the text starting to scroll, it says ready and the screen goes blank, if I hit enter at this point the linux penguin appears and then it starts scrolling more text then the screen goes blank again. At this point I can press buttons on my keyboard to make the text appear and keep pressing buttons to advance the text. Then that stops working and I can't go any further.
FYI: I've tried hotswapping the drive may different ways. I think I got it to work by tuning on the xbox to the M$ dash, tuning on the pc and pressing the pause/break, doing the ide cable swap and pressing enter on the pc to continue the boot. During the boot it will show the xbox HDD on the list as well as my cd rom. So am I correct to think that the hdd is unlocked at this point? |
