Whats the deal nintendo?

The Wii was released in November 2006. I got mine in December 2006. and now its mid July 2007 and there is still no online games! It has the ability to download virtual console games, and browse the internet. but no online game play is to be found! is this an abnormally long wait for online gaming, or am i just impatient? If anyone knows any information please respond.

Nintendo's goal wasn't online playability. It's goal was to have a system anyone, no matter what age, could play, and to bring back all the old games people liked. I agree with you that online play should be a part of the Wii functionality, but Nintendo apparently has no plans thus far for online play.

Well I see what they are doing. They are going the route of the diamond buisness. They have a few billion diamonds in the diamond exchange so they can keep demand and prices up. That is what Nintendo it doing too. I stood by the Wii part in walmart last night for 10 mins. And in that time 5 people walked by and said damn they are still sold out, when can I get mine. OH well I finally got mine.

Oh well, I'm waiting for the right moment to get mine, and Brawl will be my first game. Since it can be played with any of the 4 wii controller (Cheap Wireless Controller)s (im counting the GC one too.) I'm going SSBM on the SOB.

Nintendo is really a generation behind in the console war. They are JUST introducing online, which both the Xbox and PS2 had. They STILL don't have HD (the Wii Component cables only output 480p, which is ED not HD), which some later Xbox games had.

Good point. Nintendo had nothing till now, cept awesome games, but in my opinion Sega Dreamcast was one bad*** mother when it was out. I had one of the best games. Marvel VS Capcom 2!

I liked that the dreamcast was the first one to go online.

I finally saw my first in-stock Wii at Target last week. They actually had three of them, I've never actually seen one for sale yet in the Chicago area.

I was tempted to get one, but was curious about online play. Maybe I'm spoiled with my 360, but I can't imagine playing a game without being online and talking to my buds. As an adult gamer, most friends are not just a block or two away. Online gaming makes it possible to have fun with friends on a work night when traveling to each other's house is not an option.

I'll probably break down and pick one up when Wii Fit comes out. That will probably get my fat *** to shed a few pounds.

meh, I suppose. I just found this site a week or so ago, so I'll probably be digging up a few old posts while I look around.

Anyways, it's not Nintendo's fault. Most of the games that have come out on the Wii aren't published solely by Nintendo but 3rd party ppl. The only games that I think Nintendo should've added the online play for are Mario Party & Metroid Prime 3.

EDIT: My bump was unintentional. I just saw that it was at the top of the Wii board. Sorry!
