| A big tut As you can see this is old, but the tut i was going to post here looked messed up with the IPB bbcode. So I decided this is better than nothing, and hell maybe someone will learn something. EDIT: 8/1/05 First open up dothalo. Then click on open map. Then find the original .map file you are going to mod(and can also be a premodded map as long as it is .map). Then open it and follow the tutorial below. ************************************************** ****************** Making the car on terminal a drivable hover car. For this example I will make the yellow car on terminal flyable (The car that you fly is grey though). First open up the map in dothalo. Then go into your [weap] tag, and open up the sentinal beam. Then go to the hlmt dependancy and change it from sentinel beam to uberchassis. After that go to the [vehi] tag and click on banshee, look for the weap dependancy and swap it for the sentinel beam. Now for the boring part, go into the [mode] tag, and there should be about 4 different banshee strings, go into each one and null all every dependancy out. To do this simply click on the dependancy and in the drop down box scroll down to null, after you are done go into the [shad] tag, and again there should be like 3-4 strings for banshee, null them all out, repeat the same steps for the [lens] tag and the [cont] tag. After your done place the banshee into the map by going into the [vehc] tag and click on ghost or warthog, swap the dependancy with the banshee and you are be done. Fix the encryption, Sign the map, And ftp it to your xbox. Made By That mod who is gone. Auto Aim first download the plug in the apps forum. then go into the Weap tag and pick out the gun you want to have auto aim. I'll use the sniper go down to angel and put in 6.28 for both angles and 1000 for boths ranges. To make the ratical get read with out zooming unclick aim assist only when zoomed. Made by Chase Jet Pack 1. First go the the jpt! damage tag. 2. Then select whichever gun's trigger you want to use. I'll be using the smg trigger. 3. In tag editor change it's force to around 30 4. After you saved those tag changes go to the proj projection tag. 5. Select the gun you chose's bullet. For me it's smg bullet. 6. Turn down the lifespan a little bit in tag editor. I changed mine to about 35 as it was originally at 40. That's all. Just aim at the ground and shoot your gun and it's like superbouncing. This is great for people who can't mod and thus cannot superbounce they can shoot their gun and they're up in the air. Also the way you position the gun affects the angle at which you fly in the air. If when you're up in the air and want to get down quick just aim up at the sky hit the trigger and instantly you're on the ground. Have fun! Made by That one gay admin MIFL or something Make other teams start with no ammo and you have infinite First Open up Dot Halo and scroll down to the WEAP tag. Then go to what ever weapon you want I'm going to use the SMG. In the tag editer window scroll down to clip and click 0. Then Change deplete ammo and recharg ammo to 1000. Change everything else to one. Resign the map with Cool Guys map resigner downloadable in the Apps section and you're all set. Everyone with start with 1 bullet with the SMG except you you'll have unlimted ammo. Made by My Little Roy Shooting things out of a PP., Includes weapons, vehicles, and MCs 1. First of all open up a map editing program, I'll be using Dothalo (get it in the Apps forum.) Then open up a map you wish to do this on, I'll use Sanctuary. 2. Now go to the [weap] weapon tag and select the plasma pistol. Now go into the Dependency/LoneID window which can be accessed from Windows > Dependency/LoneID on the Dothalo toolbar. 3. You will see two proj - tags, one for charged PP bolt one for uncharged PP shot. 4. Just for this tutorial let's make uncharged shoot banshees and charged shoot out spartans (masterchiefs). Click on the upper projectile tag, the uncharged bolt, and you'll see a tag class drop down list. Go to the [vehi] vehicle tag and get the banshee. Hit save changes. Now do the same thing for the below tag except go to the [bipd] biped tag and select the masterchief, not the masterchief_mp though. Hit save changes again, fix the encryption, resign it and have fun. Of course you don't have to do those exact things, you can make it shoot out whatever you want. This can be done with other weapons but is preferable with the plasma pistol because it fires two types of shots, which means two things can be fired. Then go to the [bipd] tag and click Mastercheif or Elite I will be using the MC: After that go to your dependencies and click on hlmt ....mastercheif\masterchief_mp": Then click the arrow under dependancy/LoneID and find "...special\null\null": Then click on that and save changes Last, just encrypt the signature and your done! Made By MyLittlePony Changing starting weapon., can also be used for vehi/weaps on map. 1. Open up the map you want to change in an editing program. I'm using Dothalo, which can be found in the Apps forum. 2. Go to the itmc Item Collection tag. 3. Now you want to decide what you want to change around. For this tut I'll show you how to change your starting weapon, but the principles are the same even when changing weapons and vehicles on the map, and swapping them. Anyways, I'll be making it so that we spawn with the BR, as apposed to the SMG. If you want to do this, click multiplayer\single_weapons\smg. 4. Now go to the Dependency Window which can be accessed through Windows > Dependencies\LoneIDs. 5. Click on weap - objects\weapon\rifle\smg\smg and in the drop-down Dependency/LoneID list choose the BR (objects\weapons\rifle\battle_rifle\battle_rifle) 6. Now hit save changes in the Dependency's window and you should see the weap - has changed. Now fix your encryption, resign it and your good to go. Made By That one gay admin MIFL or something How to fly a warthog Very simple open up dot halo and go into the [vehi] tag. Go into Warthog. The tag editor window will pop out if not make sure it's checked off in windows on the top bar. The box will have check boxes like boosters. Just check where it says flying. To let other people fly just put a check in the drivers seat box. You don't need host for this. If there is no flying box than you need the plugin. Get it in the plugin section. Made By My Little Roy Making your own Mods oblitrates fantastic tutorial using dothalo -Flying warthogs: go into dothalo (simplest) and got "vehi [vehicle] and drop it out and choose "objects/vehicles/warthog/warthog." In the box that appears, click on the flying flying checkbox. -Dual Weild anything: go into any weapn under the "weap [weapon]" tag and in the box that appears when you click on it, choose dual wield. Just do it for every weapon. Make sure you have the latest plugins (halomods, or they usually come with the program), and goto to "mtag [globals]." Drop it out and choose globals/globals. On the box that appears, change walking speed forward, crouching speed forward, crougching speed back, ect. to around 15 or 20. " and choose the biped that corrisponds with the character that you play with ingame. For example if you play as a masterchief player , choose objects/characters/masterchief_mp (mp=important). If you play as an elite, choose "objects/characters/eliete_mp." In the box that appears, change the value (the white box) for jump hight to about 20. To get an idea of how high that is, 20 jump will make it so high that you can jump on top of acention both accention towers from the ground.. -Fully auto battle rifle - goto "weap [weapon]" and choose: "objects/weapons/rifle/battle_rifle" In the box that appears, choose fully-auto. -Four round burst: go to the battle_rifle again, and change shots per round to four. - Get the autoaim plugin (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2498XE4X). Save it as a .rar and then extract it. Put it in the .../plugins/halo2 folder of Dothalo. Then just open up any weapon (how to do stated above), and down at the bottom there is autoaim and autoaim angle. Change aquire distance to like 400, then deviation angle 1=6.283185307179586, auto aim range 1=400, deviation angle2= 6.283185307179586, auto aim range 2=400 [color=blue]-Changing spwns- Go into "mulg [Multiplayer Global]" and choose "multiplayer/multiplayer_globals" Your upper right hand side is your dependency window. Click on the weap tag of the weapon you want to swap for a vehicle. For exaple, if you wanted to swap the smg. choose weap - objects\weapons\rifle\smg. Chose it and change it's tag class at the top to vhei - vehicle. Then in dependency, choose the vehicle you want there and click swap. Done. (PS this can also be used to spawn scenery and weapons) -Moving player spwn points: Once halomds comes back, get GlichyGaurdians following programs: XY locator, and his spawn point changer. Use the program to find the XY coordinates of where you want to spawn. If you want to spawn on top of the level, z=14. If you want to spawn below (there has to be something down there, or else you will see the level from the outside, but can't move) z--1. Write down your spawn's XYZ coor. Then open glichy gaurdian's program and click on the scroll bar to find out how many points there are. Then divide that number by how many spawns you have. Then you find out points # what to # higher have XYZ value of ______. [color=blue]-Anyone can fly warthog All you have to do is go to the warthog tag, check flying, go to the bottom of the tag and on each seat put a check on Driver Seat. Made By obliterate Shoot out the Gate 1. open up containment in dothalo 2. Go to [weap]Weapons and choose PP or rocket 3. For PP go to dependencies and click on proj.... bolt 4. Change the ID to Mach 5. Scroll down and choose gate/gate 6. Save changes and now the PP choots a gate when its not charged I wrote this real fast so just ask me if somethin is unclear Made by Chase Ok first open Turf in Dothalo and go to the weap tag. Go to the Shotgun and then take a look at the dependencys and lone Ids window. Click on the Shotgun and then go press the little down arrow and go to the mach tag. There in the tag there is something called Scarab/Scarab. Swap that for the Shotgun and your all set. You will be able to go inside the Scarab to. This can be done for any weap on the map. Go into mtag globals and then Masterchief or Elite and edit there pick up distance to like 200. That way everytime the train comes rometley near them they die and so will you. To fix that download the invincability plugin and go into elite anand make it say unit has no health and your fineshed. Fix encrptyion and resing and you have an auto win on terminal. Go into JPT Damage Effect but this time choose objects/weapons/rifle/smg/damage_effects/smg_bullet. Then change the force to like 35 or 40 and lessen the damage effect. so now when you shoot some1 they get blasted away but it barely hurts them. Made by Chase Open dot halo then your map. go down to vehi then to the warthog/warthog. Then on to your tag editor. under physics click on your flying and uncheck handbrake. And you will want to check your boost. Then scroll down to covent boost and change the from 0 to what ever you want. Mine is at 4 or 5 for my gost any higher and your probly will kill your self if you hit somthing. Now go to your Dependencis/ LoneIDs and change your [weap] witch is your horn to rocktets. Save all of your changes. That is your flying boosting rocket launchin warhog {FIGHTER JET} Made by Organika [/color=blue]Auto Sticky for this example i will be using the plasma rifle... *First: go into the weapon tag of the weapon you will be using and add auto aim. *Second: depending of wether your gun is rapid or not, you want to use H2X to do so *Third: Change the projectile to plasma grenades *Fourth: go into the projectile tag for the plama grenades and change the initial projectile speed and the final projectile speed to somewhere around 9000 *Finally, go into the plasma rifle bolt and also change that to 9000 There ya go, when the game with 44 killamajaros in a row by stickin people! Remember to make the gun your using unlimited, or no over heat made by thenewbigmach Make other team commit suicide I'll be using Dot Halo and BR because its a popular weapon Step 1: Go to the [weap] tag and select objects/weapons/rifle/battle_rifle/battle_rifle Step 2: Go to the Dependencies and swap the [proj] tag with that of the frag grenade Step 3: Go to the [jpt!] tags and select frag grenade and beef up the damage A LOT! Step 4: Now go to the [proj] and change the bounce life, bounce distance and life span to 0 (if that doesn't work change to 0.0001) made by Chase ok 1st open up the map you want to fly in dothalo. now you go to the hlmt tag now if you want the elite to fly go to the top one if u want mc to fly go to the 3rd one now you open that and scroll to the bottom of the tag editor. uncheck the unknown 3 box and check flying 2??? now go to the bottom boxes and put this 1st box: 0.1745329 2nd box: 0.1 3rd box: 0.3 4th box: 0.5 5th box: 4 6th box: 4 7th box: 6 8th box: 7.5 9th box: 9.424778 10th box: 471.2389 11th box: 0.7 NOTE: you must have the correct plugin, if you do not see the flying things you do not have the plugins. ************************************************** *************** Once you are finished editing your map in dothalo you save changes. Then you close the map. You do not have to fix encryption dothalo does that when you close the map You then put it in CMR map resigner and resign it. Then you ftp the map you just made following the flashFXP tutorial that is in the softmod forum(note: you do not need to use flash this is just the program that i posted a tutorial for). ************************************************** ****************** Making a ppf patch. (this is only needed when sending your map to other people or when posting it on this site) Original Map= The original .map file Modded Map= The modded .map file PPF Patch= What you want your ppf to be called(example-Chase'scrazyturf) Patch Description= Patch Generated by DotHalo for .map click make patch and your done ************************************************** ****************** Applying a ppf patch to a map using ppf o matic( you can NOT ftp a ppf so you need this to patch the ppf's you recieve onto your ORIGINAL NONMODDED map.) You click the floppy disk next to ISOFile. Then you change the file of type to all files. Next you find your unmodded .map file and open. Then you click on the floppy disk next to Patch and put your .ppf. Then you click apply. A message should come up that says "Patch succesfully applied, burn image to CD now". And then your finished. As far as removing invisible walls goes, I don't know if you can actually remove them, but you can make them not effect you by nulling out all of the collision models. | ||||||
