How To Create A Race Track Using Entity- Flyy Emo Guyy/AtomicBump

MADE BY ATOMICBUMP/FLYY EMO GUYY OF ********** FORUMS

Ok in this tutorial you will learn how to make a racetrack on the map, Containment.

Programs you will need:
UMP V2: http://files.filefront.com/UMP_v3_Setupexe...;/fileinfo.html (this is the V3 download but its basicly the same)
Single_player_shared.map, shared.map, and mainmenu.map: http://files.xboxsoftmods.org/index.php?ac...egory&id=11
thats it.

Now lets get started.

First Step: Getting started.
1. Make sure you have single_player_shared.map, shared.map, and mainmenu.map all in the same folder as containment, you will learn more of why we need this later.

2. Open UMP V2 (or V3)
Click the image to open in full size.

3. Open Entity under the map editors section.
Click the image to open in full size.

4. Open Containment in Entity.
Click the image to open in full size.
Click the image to open in full size.

5. look for the [itmc] tag on the left side of your screen in entity.
Click the image to open in full size.

Second Step: Duplicating your weapons.
1. Once you have found the [itmc] tag expand it by click the little plus sign, then click on the carbine (you can use any weapon you want but for this tutorial we will use the carbine).
Click the image to open in full size.

2. Select the carbine and then right click, then click duplicate, duplicate it twice.
Click the image to open in full size.

Once you have done this it should look like the following picture:
Click the image to open in full size.

Third Step: Changing the idents of your duplicated weapons.
1. Click on carbine number 1 (the one with a 1 at the end) and then go over to the other side of Entity, and look for this:
Click the image to open in full size.

2. Once you have found the Item Premutations tag on the right side of Entity, select it and right click, then go to display idents and click it like in this picture:
Click the image to open in full size.

3. After you have made the idents be displayed right click on this tag on the right side of entity and click swap idents like in this picture:
Click the image to open in full size.

after you have done that a box that looks like this should pop up, once it does change the right side of it to [vehi] and change it to the warthog/warthog one then hit swap ident:
Click the image to open in full size.

4. close the ident swapper and go back to the left side and return to the carbines, go to carbine 2 and do everythign the same, until you get into the ident swapper but this time change it to this tag and hit swap ident:
Click the image to open in full size.

5. right click in on the right side and click display refexives this is nessesary for the next step.
Click the image to open in full size.

Forth Step: Cloning your track peices.
1. scroll down to the [sncr] tag and expand it by clicking the + sign, then click the only other tag in it like in this picture:
Click the image to open in full size.

2. Look for the tag on the left numbered 288 called "Netgame Equipment":
Click the image to open in full size.

3. once you have found this select it and right click, then click clone chunk.
Click the image to open in full size.

4. the Chunk Cloner will pop up, now you will need 16 warthogs, so thats 16 chunks right there, now depending on how many track peices you want thats up to you, just keep on adding to it if you want alot. for this we will have 4 track peices and 16 hogs. so that equals 20 chunks.
Click the image to open in full size.

5. close the chunk cloner and go back to the right side and right click, then click display, display idents.
Click the image to open in full size.

6. Once the idents are displayed look for the collection smg tag:
Click the image to open in full size.

7. Above the SMG tag there should be 20 battle rifles like in this picture.
Click the image to open in full size.

8. Now right click on the collection tab for one of the battle rifles and click swap.
Click the image to open in full size.

9. a new little box should have poped up that looks liek this:
Click the image to open in full size.

10. now change the tag that says battle rifle to either carbine 1 or carbine 2, just scroll down for this example i will use carbine 1, this is what it should look like before you hit swap.
Click the image to open in full size.

11. now hit swap.
Click the image to open in full size.

12. now it should look like this one i have selected on the right side of entity for the battle rifle you just swapped with the carbine.
Click the image to open in full size.

13. repeat this 19 more times and remeber to put some as carbine 2 also, or else you wont have any warthogs (or gates depending on which ones you made which).

Fifth Step: Placing your track peices.
1. look for the SBSP tag and expand it.
Click the image to open in full size.

2. Click on the only other tag inside of it.
Click the image to open in full size.

3. Go to the right side of Entity and click on "Tools".
Click the image to open in full size.

4. Now click on "RAW Editor.
Click the image to open in full size.

5. A new window should pop up that looks like this:
Click the image to open in full size.

6. Now press and hold the X key until you get to somewhere like this:
Click the image to open in full size.

7. here are the controls to move around in entity BSP veiwer:
w-forward
s-backward
a-left
d-right
z-down
x-up

And to move an object you press...
up-forward
down-backwards
left-left
right-right
pg up-up
pg down-down
alt, ctrl, shift-different angle movements. If you hold 1 down and click and move the mouse around it will move the object a certain way depending on what button your pressing.

8. Next getting you peices to show up, go under the "Visable Spawns" drop down:
Click the image to open in full size.

9. find where ever your peices are, they should be around by where i have my veiw at on the far side of the map, you WILL see them, they are really hard to not see.

10. once you have moved your peices, hit save changes in the BSP veiwer AND then hit save changes in Entty on the right hand side, then hit fix encription in dothalo, and then resign your map and your done. FTP it and have fun.
