| mabey its not plugged into that back of the ps3 all the way.. are you using the same inputs that you used for the xbox, (example, the plug-ins in the front?) if not use those.. otherwise either your ps3 or ps3's cables are crap. (well the ps3 is always crap.....)

| make sure all your plugs are in, set the channel then turn the TV off at the wall, turn it back on, and for the majority of problems that should work (does happen occasionally with some Inputs) If possible get a HDMI cable (if your TV supports it) then run 1 console via HDMi & 1 via component. As I'm sure everyone knows the official figure for faulty ps3's are one of the lowest known of any electrical item (compared to 360 which is officially one of th ehighest which has not been withdrawn from sale)so it's unlikely its your system the lead may be the problem, Try a friends, or buy a cheap one, But turning your TV off might work | ||||||

| if you have an elite, why don't you just connect the elite with HDMI, and the ps3 with its composite cables, there are usually two composite cable input on a new TV, to try plugging it in to the other one. | ||||||

| Hold down the power button for 5 seconds. My guess is you switched to HDMI one day, and now you're trying to go back to the red yellow white component. But the PS3 is still booting in HDMI, so just hold your finger on the power button for 5 seconds and it'll boot to the default (component). | ||||||
