(SP-MP) BSP Conversions

A trick to get some of the freak errors off, is to deselect a couple things in the rebuilder dialog. Like Looping sounds. It looks like you are having trouble with machs, so con't check it when rebuilding. If you really need the machs in the mod, just build it into your new map from the SP one using Entity. And use the mach platelet coordinates in the scnr from the SP map to spawn it in the exact location in the MP map.

that did it!!! I unchecked looping sound and it worked.

I Cant find h2c or h2g anywhere. I clicked the link at the top and searched those entire sites but i couldnt find where to download it.

it wont show the downloads until you register or login.
once you register for that website you will be able to see the downloads attached to the bottom of the first post.

ok for some reason i can load h2core and open the shared,single shared, and main menu but once i open the internet to read the tutorial i always get the message that h2 core is not responding. is n e body else getting this problem?

Zone, this tut is so easy, I think it worked (im on step 5...teh longest one..) and its so easy, i remember how to do it and its my first time! But thanks, ive wanted to do this for sooooo long!

Dam, how long does it take to rebuild the map?? Jeez.

Okay. Ive tryed this twice now. The first time I got an error during the "rebuilding" process which is why it took so long. Im an idiot.

Anyway, on the second try, I get an error when going to view the BSP (So close too!) I get the error:

Non-negative number required.

I really dont want to try again, but am I going to have to?

Okay...Im getting REALLY frustrated at this. Ive done this 4 times and every time at step 7, I get an unhandled exception the same as Ive gotten 3 other times. I know the maps are clean, and Im using the latest version of Entity and I tryed it with the old ones, I tryed rebuilding the map and it all comes down to failing at step 7!

Okay, is it the map Im using or something? Im using Waterworks...Im gonna try unchecking both the sound boxes and the machinery box.

Yep, almost all errors have do to with the sound sh*t.

okay, that didn't work. What the hell, man. This is annoying. I unchecked BOTH sound boxes and the machinery box and it still didnt work. Any ideas on what else it could be?

You could have decompiled something wrong earlier. H2C and H2G are really unstable at this point, sometimes freak errors just happen for no reason and two maps just don't combine. Use a different MP map.

Dam....it didnt work with Headlong, Burial Mounds and Beaver Creek...can you try it and see if Im doing something wrong? Im using the beginning part of Outskirts (o3a_oldmombasa\earthcity1).

For the meantime, I give up. ive spent like 1 hour trying to get past this same error. I dont want to do an SP-MP conversion that bad...

Okay...I didnt mean I was giving up on it...Im going to try later. Im just not going to try it right now, as in, Im going to try to figure out (and probably screw up) how to do something else on a different map.

Argh.

hate to break it to you zone....but this tut dont work, ive tried 2 diff maps, 4 different bsp's and followed everything EXACTLY how it said in the tut......wtf?
