Important Gears of War Information

1. Team Capacity will be 64 four-person teams for MLG Meadowlands.
2. After MLG Meadowlands the Regular Season Team Capacity will be 72 teams (because 8 teams will have pro status and will auto-qualify for the Championship Bracket).
3. After MLG Meadowlands there will be 8 Pro Teams & 8 Semi-Pro Teams based on 2007 season points. (The Top 8 Teams after MLG Meadowlands will be offered entry into the MLG Pro Player’s Association).
4. There are 7 Gears of War gametypes
5. The new maps from the Hidden Fronts Map Pack have been tested by MLG and will not be used at MLG Meadowlands.
6. Due to scheduling conflicts, you may not play in both the Gears of War 4v4 and the Halo 2 FFA or Open Halo 2 4v4. However, players with professional status in Halo 2 may participate in both the Gears of War event and the Halo 2 4v4 Championship Bracket. Also, players with pro status in Rainbow Six Vegas may compete in both R6V and Gears of War tournaments (since the schedules do not conflict).
7. The Gears of War event will take place on the Fridays and Saturdays of event weekends. Check the Meadowlands information page for a detailed schedule.
8. Each Open and Championship Bracket match will have a predetermined order of gametypes. These gametypes can be found on the Meadowlands information page.

Gears of War Online Tournament Information

The Online Tournaments at mlgpro.com can assist players in their journey to pro-gaming stardom. Rank points from the Online Tournaments for Gears of War will be used to pre-seed players in the Open Bracket at the MLG Meadowlands event. Pro Circuit points will be worth more than Online Tournament points, but since there are currently no Pro Circuit points for Gears of War, the bracket in the Meadowlands will be entirely seeded by online rank points. Players who do not have any online rank points will be randomly seeded with the rest of the field. After the first event, Gears of War's seeding system will function in the same way as Halo 2:

- One 2007 Pro Circuit point is worth more than any amount of Online Tournament points.

- All players with Online Tournament points will be seeded above all players who do not have points of any kind. The players with the most Online Tournament points will be seeded above the players with fewer Online Tournament points.

If you have not yet played in an Online Tournament for Gears of War, it is not too late to get into the action. While the next tournament will start too late for teams to earn Pro Circuit points before the Meadowlands, the next event will allow players to start training with their teammates against the very best in the world and prepare for the event. Since cumulative online rank points will be used, players who plan to attend any Gears of War event during the 2007 season will want to get into the action right away to assure the highest seed possible when they make their debut. Information for the next Gears of War Online Tournament can be found below:
