How 2 Rename bout NETHING ...*BEST TUT*

*k iv'e found 2 tuts on how 2 do this, each 1 was made by a BK.. lol..the 2nd 1 was made by a person talkin sh** about the other 1, but n e way...his was bad 2, soo here i am 2 tell you EXACTLY how 2 Hex edit*


You Will Nead: a HEX Editor, in this case Hex Workshop

any ways lets get started right...

1) The 1st thing you gonna do is open hex workshop you got from the link.

2) Then go 2 File, then Open & choose your map.

3) Now that your map is opened, go 2 Edit then Find

4) K now double check make sure that the drop down box is on Text String, Direction is Down, Find all instances is Checked, & that ur tab thing is on ASCII String.

5) Now in Value is where your gonna wright what you want to change, (must be spelled 100% correct!).. lets say you chose warthog, type it in the Value:
then click OK.

* the upper half whit box (w/all the #'s) is the Hex itself.. u wont nead 2 touch that 4 n e thing, the lower bottom LEFT box is unimportant... meaning just ignore it, the bottom right box is where how many results were found for warthog, that you can click, then in the upper half towards the right will b a new box, the highlighted part is what you will (can) b changing*

6) K now that warthog is opened, now go 2 Edit, then Replace now a sumwhat familiar box will open that now says Replace

7) now in Find, type in warthog, then in Replace type in BKtruck.. lol or whatnot,.. (*notice how i used 7 (the same amount) characters 4 both warthog & BKtruck) Now just Click OK, CONGRATS!!YOU HAVE JUST RENAMED UR WARTHOG 2 BKTRUCK!!

***P.S.!!! Sumthin that i found out that ive never seen b4... besides old maps, is that ON A NEW MAP u can change the INGAME MAIN MENU!, including the popups that come up when u get a messeage saying 'Message from' etc... just change it the same way u would n e thing

IMPORTANT!! never replace more characters than what it should be, if u dont got enough characters 2 replace the word with, simply fill it up with spaces or stars or whatnot*
