How to put Halo 2 on the HardDrive and Mod the maps!*Easy*

Putting Halo 2 on your HardDrive:

1.) Turn on your xbox and place the Halo 2 disc in the tray
2.)FTP your Xbox
3.)go into the "D" Drive
4.) On your desktop Create a folder called "Halo 2"
5.)Back in the FTP window there should be a folder called "Halo 2", open this and drag all of its contents (when your in the maps folder of this content copy all the maps except for the Campaign missions they should have #'s by them, only copy the ones you recognize as multiplayer maps) into the folder you created on your desktop called "Halo 2".
6.)Now get out of the "D" drive on your xbox and go into the "E" drive
7.)Open the "Games" folder in the "E" drive and drag the "Halo 2" folder from your desktop to the "games" folder.
8.)Now close the FTP window and restart your xbox and take out the disc, go into the games folder from your xbox desktop and try starting halo 2 if it works congratz!

Modding the Maps:

1.)FTP your Xbox and go into the maps in the Halo 2 folder (E:/Games/Halo2/maps)
2.)Make a file somewhere where you can store an extra copy of these maps clean
3.)Now pick a map that you want to mod and open it in whatever modding program you use and mod it like a normal map
4.) Now when you go to resign it , your going to have to change the "signiture #'s" t anything just write this # down somewhere becuase i dnt think you can use the same one again.
5.)now FTP it back to E:/Games/Halo 2/Maps
6.) now your ready to play!

If you have any questions or any problems please point them out to me and i will do my best to fix them, this is my first tut and i may have forgot some stuff.

If you post it somewhere else please give me credit!

ALSO, You need to have the FONTS FOLDER in the MAPS FOLDER or else you will
always get a dirty disc error!

What?

When I try to put the Halo 2 stuff into E/Games it stops ftping on a map called cyclotron, then when I tried to skip it, it stops on headlong. What is happening, I following what the tutorial says, and I even copy the whole disc again with the same problem. Any help?

If that happens, then you've run out of space. you don't need to copy over the Bink folder, and you don't need all the single player maps with numbers on them, but you do need singleplayershared.map. Don't copy sinple player and bink, and you will have enough space for the multiplayer. Nobody needs the campaign anyway.

Ok I got it to work and I think I understand FTPing a little bit more, but is there a way to add an exit command or something to put you back to the dashboard in the Halo game saved to the harddrive?

actually if you did the softmodding thing like most people do and you chose the one that isn't Evox (can't remember the name, I think it's MXM maybe), then if you press R+L+Right Thumbstick+Left Thumbstick all togeather, then it will take you back to the dash, no matter what you are in or are doing.

Yes I did install that dashboard, UnleashX, but the button combonation didn't do anything, I loaded the halo saved on my harddrive and press them all at once and nothing happened?

Is your dash the one with the dragon in the background? If not, then it is the incorrect dash to have that. If you used the AiO version Whatever, then you have more choices than with the gamesave exploit method. I'm pretty sure it isn't UnleashX that did that, cuz That's the one I used most. In any case, if that isn't built into the dash programming, then the only thing I can think is to turn your system off and then back on. UnleashX is still my favorite dash, tho.

I know this is old, but I had to answer timmyx413's question. By changing the signatures #, he simply means to simply Resign the map.
