How To FTP With OUt Flash FXP Or Any FTP Program!

ok so in this tutorial im going to teach you how to ftp to your xbox using windows explorer. Which means no more FTP programs such as flash fxp, smart ftp, cute FTP etc. etc. so lets get started



1.
we need to go in to any folder im just going to use my pictures.



2.
once in the my pictures im going to go up to that URL bar up there



3. And then your going to want to type in the samething i type in



4. your done you should see all your folder on that screen like E,C,D etc. etc.

Materials Needed:
* Softmodded Xbox
* Internet Explorer (the NORMAL explorer, not firefox nor any other)
* A local area connection (a router with 2+ ethernet cable ports)
* 2 Ethernet Cables
* Computer.

Procedure:

Step 1, Make sure you Xbox is in the softmodded dashboard, ex. Unleash X, Evolution X. And that your ethernet cable has one end plugged into the back of your xbox, and the other end to your router, and check the same with your computer.

Step 2, Go to settings > network, and the 4th option down should say "Type" Change whatever it is to STATIC. Save by hitting the Save button on the bottom. Then restart your Xbox and stay on your softmodded dashboard.

Step 3, On your computer, go to the Start menu and click on Control Panel, click on Network and Internet conections, Network Conections, then right-click on Local Area Conection, and choose Status, you must now copy the local area connection IP, DNS, and subnet mask to the Xbox setting, however, the change the LAST numbers of the xbox iIP to a different number from around 100. save changes, and restart the xbox.

Step 4, Open up the Internet explorer, on the address bar, type, ftp://xbox:xbox@YOUR XBOX IP, then press enter *xbox:xbox are the default username and password from a newly softmodded xbox*. Example, ftp://xbox:xbox@123.123.1.123 (don't click the links on this page, they are just to show how it's done).

Step 5, If everything went right you should see five folders on the Internet explorer window (C, E, X, Y, Z), this is your xbox harddrive. If you see this then you are connected!.

hey i just read your thread on how to ftp without programs and it gives me a error msg it says Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have premission to access the folder. Details: The connection with server was reset
