| Ok first, you need a few programs.
I use:
Craxation 4.0
FTP-Enabled Xbox
Nero Burning ROM
DVD Burner
SameSig2
DotHalo/Insolence/ADI
Blank DVD+R(Never tried DVD-R, probably works also though)
First, open Craxation 4.0. Close out the wizard for a second. Look on the left side and network your Xbox just like in Flash FXP. Make sure your xbox has FTP enabled, and then go to Tools-Start Menu Wizard. The wizard should come back up. Now click "Disc Ripper." If your Xbox is networked fine, and Halo 2 is in the drive, select a folder to save it to. For me its C:/xbox mods/Halo 2
Next, let it rip. Takes an average of 10-30 mins. Once ripped, open the folders and mod the maps...w/e you like. Once all of them are successfully modded, (MAKE SURE YOU FIX ENCRYPTION/RECALCULATE CHECKSUM FIRST) open SameSig2 and follow this tutorial included in the program, but editted by me slightly for more descriptivness.
Tutorial for using SameSig2:
1) Mod your map in DotHalo.
2) Fix encryption within the program. (in ADI its called Recalculate Checksum)
3) Open SameSig2.
4) Click on "Begining of String Table"
5) Now, click Execute.
6) A new window will pop up, in this window put the ORIGINAL map and click open.
7) Another new window will pop up after that, in this window put the Modded map and click ok.
A new box will pop up asking if you "Are sure you want to continue?" Obviously, Click Yes.
9) Then another box will pop up asking if the maps encryption has been fixed normally, (As I stated above!) Click Yes. (By fixed normally, it means in DotHalo or ADI)
10) Give it about a minute and it will complete and say your "Done! As well as your encryption is the same as original"
11) now this program created a map in the same folder as the modded map and it has a .map extension (Often a ".map.map" for some reason. Just delete the original one you used and take the .map.map and rename it without extensions IF it opens with a program/default editor. If not rename it Mapname.map and obviously replace mapname with the map's real exact name.
12) The map with the .map extension is the one you just made, this is the one you have to transfer to your xbox but before you do so you have to take off the .map extension so halo reconizes it

Ok, once you have done that, the map has been resigned. Do not open it again, if you MUST resign it again after the same way.
Now go back to Craxation, one all of your maps are modded. The disc cannot be burnt again, meaning you have to waste another blank dvd, so make sure you did everything right! Also, remove the "Credits" file from the directory you copied Halo 2 to because its large useless and makes it so that the files wont fit on the disc.
In Craxation, click "Create a new ISO" and select your folder. For me,
its: C:/xbox mods/Halo 2 (highlight Halo 2 and click OK)
Also it shows another window of where to create the ISO file. Make it in an empty folder called like game ISOs.
(For me its C:/xbox mods/iso files/halo2.iso)
Now, once its created, to make sure since I never tried it without this, click "Patch ISO/XBE" and select the ISO file you just created. Click patch, wait a second and it will say like "1 file(s) successfully patched!"
Now, close Craxation and open up Nero Burning ROM. I have Nero and if you give me your e-mail I will send it to you along with a keygen.
-First time users:
Open Nero Burning ROM from Start-All Programs-Nero-Nero 6 Demo
A dialog opens telling you to enter serial number. Copy and paste one from the keygen, then continue with the burning tut and ignore the next paragraph.
-Nero owners:
Open Nero Burning ROM (lol)
Burning the disc:
A window comes up looking like:
Click open and open the ISO you created earlier with Craxation. The window will re-load and to the left you will see "DVD Image" and at the bottom a bar showing that the DVD will be nearly full. Make sure the checkmarks on the "Burn" tab are the following:
Determine Maximum Speed = Unchecked
Write = Checked
Finalize DVD (No further writing possible!) = Checked
Once this is done, look at the bottom. Next to write speed if it says Maximum or anything like that, select it and burn it at the SLOWEST speed possible, which for me is 2.4x.
Let the disc burn...should take 20-40 minutes on MOST computers, but the slower the burn the better quality of the disc.
Once complete, click Done and pop it in!*
*Note-You need a modified dashboard for this to load. MSDash responds with "Invalid Media Type," and I use Unleash X for this mainly. Though still
in experimental stages, this probably could work on Xbox Live. Test at your own expense but MAKE SURE YOUR DOING IT WITH A BANNED ACC, signing in with an unbanned account will autoban you since you have a modded dashboard.
Unleash X- Using with Live
My basic settings to get onto Live with Unleash X are:
AutoLaunch-
AutoLaunch Game = Yes
AutoLaunch DVD = Yes
DVD Player= C;/xboxdash.xbe
AutoLaunch Audio CD = Yes
Audio CD player = C;/xboxdash.xbe
AutoLaunch Data= no
Network:
IP-
Type (IP) DHCP
FTP-
Enable = No
This should work, and you can sign on with BANNED ACCOUNTS. Signing on with an unbanned account will mean getting banned, instantly even if you dont go into matchmaking.

Conclusion-
Insert your burned disc and with the modded dash let it go for a second, usually takes longer than the real Halo 2 to load. Once loaded, have fun on the old maps. Take it to friends houses who have softmodded Xboxes. Have fun!
