How to Softmod your Xbox with SID 4.0

you can just rent the game with this, unless your planning to unistall it but your don't have to unistall it to go on live. its more then the sc ftp dash it stays their

after i softmodded it didnt let me go on live so i deleted the softmod by going into the menu and doing the remove softmod thing (idont remember exactly what I did, just guessing) and it told me to reboot xbox.i did and it started but still couldnt get on live

any help?
iforgot to read the little note about changing the ip in the tutorial..

well that was the problem you have to put the ips to dhpc in modded and automatic in the xbox dash

i switched my ips to DHCP and tried to go on live. it just went back to the main menu without signing in. how do i get on?

ok it's modded. easy when you know how

but im pretty sure you said to turn your xbox off then hit eject to acsess the ms dash and get on live. well when i hit eject it goes to the sid 4 installer page wtf????

i am havin a problem. when i go to backup my MS it gives me an error 112. i am runing the newest version like the tut said and even checked it twice. any ideas?

i played around with my xbox and found out error 112 is actually an error of it not being able to backup your MS cause there is to much **** on it. delete some things and you will be fine. on the other hand i have 2 regular xboxes and 1 360 and i have moded one of my original xboxes and when i went to mod my halo edition xbox it worked all fine till i went to restart it without the disk and now it wont boot anything up. any sugestions?

i cant believe people cant figure out how to unzip a file and drag it...wow. my main concern is if i do everything correctly, what are the chances that it will totally screw up my xbox. i really cant afford that happening. o and great tutorial

nothing can happen at all to ur xbox, unless u install softmod and forget to make a backup, and now u have no dash, but u can always just FTP another one over

so how would one ftp it to their xbox if they do not know the xbox's ip. i wish i could find out my xbox's ip address without the modified dash. wonderin if there is any easy way...

You can't FTP to your xbox w/o having the dash modified. Even if you could, there's hardly anything you can do with the files if you got them there. Maybe edit the downloadable maps for halo 2, that's about it.

I went through the whole thing and it worked and u used unleashed. But how do u get the menu up again. Cause when i restart it just takes me to the dash board (the one were u can see ur freinds).
