| Guest | How to Take Pictures of Your Maps (Using Yelo Trainer) ~ By Dem Pyros ~HOW TO TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR MAPS (Using Yelo Trainer)~ By Dem Pyros This tutorial is designed for the noob. Once you're done with this tutorial you should be able to be able to take pictures of your modded halo 2 maps on your xbox, and upload them to your computer. ~Things Required:
Under steps there will be threads and forums for reference. These are in case you don't understand something, you can go there to learn about it. If at ANY POINT WHAT SO EVER you don't understand something, please re-read the part you're stuck on, check the FAQ's at the bottom of the tutorial, and use the forum's "SEARCH" feature to look for your answer before you post asking for help. I apologize in advance that it's reasonably long. I'm trying to explain as thoroughly as possible. If you know all of the basics (FTP, how to use softmodded dashboards) it's actually very quick to do. If you've done this before, you can skip steps 1-7 LET'S GET STARTED! 1.) Turn on your softmodded xbox, you MUST have a softmodded dashboard installed. For this tutorial, i'm going to be using my favorite dashboard, XBMC. ~Reference tutorials:2.) Now, acquire your modded map. You can either do this in the form of download a .ppf, .sppf, or .serenity patch and applying it, or by making your own. ~Reference tutorials:3.) Once you have your softmodded dashboard, you need to FTP files to it. The first thing you need to FTP is Halo 2 to E:\Games\Halo 2. If the folder is not already there, create it. Remember that you need to transfer all files except the single player maps, and the .bik videos. Once you have those transfered, you need to transfer your modded map. DON'T FORGET TO RESIGN! For old maps: Simply FTP transfer the modded map to E:\Games\Halo 2\maps. If the FTP client asks you to overwrite the file, MAKE SURE YOU SAY YES. Otherwise the file will not transfer. For new maps: Sadly, you cannot use new maps the way they were designed, in order to take pictures, as you will have disable the code needed to recognize the new maps. So, what you need to do is take the new map (for ex., containment.map), and rename it to the name of one of the old maps (such as lockout.map, ascension.map, etc.). Then, FTP transfer this renamed map to E:\Games\Halo 2\maps. If it asks you to overwrite the file, MAKE SURE YOU SAY YES. ~Reference tutorials:4.) Now you'll need to do some downloading and tweaking. First thing you need to do, is download the Yelo v1.5 trainer. This is what is going to be used to take pictures. Download (with mirror): Code: Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/12494525/Yelo_v1.5__H2_Xbox_.rar.html Mirror 1: http://files.filefront.com//;6569264;;/ Download (with mirror): Code: Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/12495212/Xored_Mini_Launcher_v2.2.rar.html Mirror 1: http://files.filefront.com//;6569285;;/ It should look somewhat like this: ![]() Now, open up the "Xored" (configuration settings) file in notepad. You'll notice two lines of code that should read: Code: Trainers_Path = "C:\Trainers" #Trainers_Path = "C:\Trainers" Code: Trainers_Path = "E:\Trainers" #Trainers_Path = "E:\Trainers" ~Reference downloads:5.) Yay! More FTPing! Well, not really yay, i hear you groaning. Yeah yeah, i know. But sorry, too bad. First things first, Xored. Open up your FTP client, and FTP the entire folder (if you didn't change it it's named "Xored_Mini_Launcher_v2.2") to the location E:\Apps (the application folder for most dashboards). If you don't have this folder, make it. Now Yelo isn't *quite* as easy. But it's still easy. In the Yelo folder on your computer, you'll notice a file that is named "Yelo15.etm". That's what is called a Trainer. I won't go into detail about trainers, you can google it if you want. The point is that it allows you to use easy modifications to the game engine. In this case, Halo 2's camera. FTP the "Yelo15.etm" file to "E:\Trainers". If you remember, this is the name that we edited the Xored.ini file with earlier. Now, in order to make it work (and not be totally ****ed up), you need to do these 2 things: 1.) In the Yelo folder there should be 2 files named "config v1.5". One is "config v1.5.txt", and one is "config v1.5.inc". You need to FTP the .INC file. Make sure you don't mix these up. FTP this file to "E:/TDATA/4D530064/".That's the last FTPing that you will have to do. Yay!!! 6.) Easiest part of the tutorial. Disconnect your FTP from your xbox, and restart it. 7.) (optional): Go into the "Games" part of your softmodded menu (it varies between dashboards) and click on halo 2. Load the game, and see if you can play it. If so proceed to step 8, if not go back to step 3. 8.) Time to start taking pictures! Once your xbox is loaded, go to the "Applications" section of your dashboard. In XBMC (THIS IS NOT AN XBOX 360 PICTURE, IT'S A SKIN) on the mc360 skin, this section is in the "Games" slice. ![]() Once your dashboard has loaded the menu, you should see at least one item there, the Xored Trainer Launcher. Select it and press "A" (or start, it's different depending on the dashboard) to launch it. ![]() 9.) Ignore the cheesy music, it's just filler. Once the trainer loads, you should see all the games currently on your xbox. If at any time you need help with Xored, press down on the left thumbstick to bring up a help menu. ![]() Select "Halo 2", and press "A" on your controller (Cheap Wireless Controller Bear with me, the background makes it hard to see this. The text is the command to load the game with the Yelo trainer on. Now we're cooking! ^_^ ![]() On the screen after that, you will have a list of options that the trainer is able to do. Feel free with messing around with these later...... Right now the settings that you should have to take the best pictures are these (green is on, red is off. Use A to toggle and the Dpad to go between them): Code: Option #1 "Disable Autoupdate" Option #2 "Developers Mode" Option #7 "Bypass Map Checksum" Option #8 "Cinematic Biped" Option #9 "Cinematic LOD" ![]() Once you have everything selected properly, press the "Start" button, and it will launch the game! 10.) If everything went well, you should be in Halo 2. Everything looks like it used to, right? Now go into a Split Screen game, choose the modded map that you FTP'd over (from step 3, if it's a new map load the map with the name of what you renamed your map) and start a new game. In rules don't matter. You can do whatever you want in order to get the pictures you need. I'm doing Fiesta CTF cuz it's cool ![]() 11.) Started the game? Well everything LOOKS normal. Or, at least the way it would normally look. Now, this is what you do. Hold down the white button, and press the back button. Congrats, you just took your first Yelo picture! How does it feel? Dumb? Yeah, probably. ![]() So how do those people get such great pictures? They use some of the tweaking commands in order to move around the camera and do different effects. A list of commands is found in the Yelo trainer folder and in the FAQ's in the bottom of the page. The following pictures were done with the Yelo trainer, by me using some of the other commands and camera tricks (not hard, and no photoshops). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 12.) Okay, so once you've done taking pictures, you can just shut off your xbox. Easy, eh? 13.) Turn your xbox back on. You should still have the same IP address since you FTP'd. Now, it's time to get the pictures off of your xbox. Still easy though ^_^. And as you can see, I've already done it. Download the UberScreenshot tool, as this is what we need to use to accomplish this. Download: Code: Download:http://rapidshare.com/files/12499781/UberScreenshotTool.rar.html Mirror 1: http://files.filefront.com//;6569616;;/ It should look something like this: ![]() Now, go to Edit, and then click on "Manage Connections". A box like this should pop up: ![]() Now, click on "Add New". Fill out the boxes with your corresponding information. Host Address = The IP of your Xbox Username = "xbox" by default Password = "xbox" by default Games = Make sure the checkbox for "Halo 2" is checked, because that's the game you're taking pictures for. Mine looks like this when completed: ![]() Press "OK" when you're done. 14.) Now in UberScreenshot tool, go to the File menu, go to "Connect to", and choose the only connection that is there (which is based off of the data you just put in). ![]() If the data you put in is good and your xbox is still set up for FTP, give the tool a minute and it will update the list with your pictures. Otherwise, if it fails (you'll see a message in the lower left corner), re-check your info. Now it should look somewhat like this: ![]() 15.) Select the pictures that you want to save. Make sure the ones that you want have the check next to them. Now, go to File-> Save Checked As. Pick a folder, type in a name (i usually pick "1", so the files show up 1-1, 1-2, etc.) and press "Save". All of your pictures will be saved there. ![]() 16.) Upload them and post your pictures on the forum. Or, due whatever. Either way, YOU'RE DONE!!!! FAQ/Troubleshooting Q: Oh my god!!! The camera is all messed up when i get in vehicles! How do i fix it!!! A: Sadly, you can't. The maker of Yelo has yet to fix this glitch Q: I followed it exactly. I'm trying to play with my friend, and it's not working or something! How do i fix it? A: Yelo will not work if you have a 2nd controller (Cheap Wireless Controller Q: What are all the controls for yelo? A: They're all in a text file when you download. But for reference: Code: dpad-up = increase cam speed dpad-down = decrease cam speed dpad-left = decrease look speed dpad-right = increase look speed lthumb+rthumb = toggle timefreeze lthumb+dpad-up = increase vertical look shift lthumb+dpad-down = decrease vertical look shift lthumb+dpad-left = increase horizontal look shift lthumb+dpad-right = decrease horizontal look shift lthumb+A = lthumb+B = lthumb+X = lthumb+Y = lthumb+black = disable cinematic mode lthumb+white = enable cinematic mode lthumb+start = lthumb+back = stillcam rthumb+dpad-up = decrease camera depth (move forward) rthumb+dpad-down = increase camera depth (move back) rthumb+dpad-left = increase fov (zoom out) rthumb+dpad-right = decrease fov (zoom in) rthumb+A = save camera state (shifts, fov, and depth) rthumb+B = load camera state (shifts, fov, and depth) rthumb+X = save gamestate rthumb+Y = load gamestate rthumb+black = rthumb+white = rthumb+start = rthumb+back = cutscene cam back+start = back+dpad-up = first person perspective back+dpad-down = third person perspective back+dpad-left = chasecam perspective back+dpad-right = devcam perspective start+dpad-up = start+dpad-down = start+dpad-left = start+dpad-right = black+dpad-up = increase z cam shift black+dpad-down = decrease z cam shift black+dpad-left = decrease y cam shift black+dpad-right = increase y cam shift black+back = black+start = white+dpad-up = white+dpad-down = auto hires grabber white+dpad-left = vidcap white+dpad-right = 360 degree shot white+back = screenshot white+start = while in devcam... rtrigger = move up along z axis ltrigger = move down along z axis A+dpad-up = letterbox toggle A+dpad-down = wireframe A+dpad-left = hud toggle A+dpad-right = ai toggle A+back = A+start = A+black = decrease ambient light brightness A+white = increase ambient light brightness B+dpad-up = teleport to current camera coordinates B+dpad-down = B+dpad-left = decrease gamespeed B+dpad-right = increase gamespeed B+back = B+start = B+black = B+white = X+dpad-up = secondary light vertical increase X+dpad-down = secondary light vertical decrease X+dpad-left = secondary light horizontal decrease X+dpad-right = secondary light horizontal increase X+back = X+start = X+black = decrease secondary light brightness X+white = increase secondary light brightness Y+dpad-up = primary light vertical increase Y+dpad-down = primary light vertical decrease Y+dpad-left = primary light horizontal decrease Y+dpad-right = primary light horizontal increase Y+back = Y+start = Y+black = decrease primary light brightness Y+white = increase primary light brightness A: That's a wireframe mode, where it removes all of the faces of the polygons and only displays the lines between the vertex's. To fix this, make sure you have config_1.5.inc in the E:\TDATA\4D530064 folder. Q: Did you REALLY write all this Dem Pyros? A: Yeah, i like you noobs that much. Q: Why are you such a ****? A: You're welcome ^_^ Q: WTF YOU ****ING ******* I'M GOING TO @#*&@(*#& A: Flaming, reported. Q: Where do i download XBMC? A: http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/search.php Q: Help! My light on the front of my xbox changed colors! Is this bad! A: Don't worry. If you're running a trainer on your xbox through Xored, it turns your front LED orange to notify you. If you turn your xbox back on and off, the color is restored to its original state. Q: Will this screw up my xbox? A: No Q: Can i do this without modding my xbox? A: No. You can use a digital camera, but it's not nearly the same thing. PLEASE LEAVE REP+ AND THANKS!! Last edited by Dem Pyros; 08-19-2007 at 12:40 AM.. |

| just tryin to help lol some people get so pissed if it dosn't work right for'em i got it to work on my very first try dude and it's easy........and i'll give some help for the newbie's at this to add on to ur tut don't get pissed it took me 5 mins to figer this part out Quote: 5.) In the same folder (E:/TDATA/4D530064/), there should be two folders. $u, and $C. Rename both of these. It doesn't matter what you rename them to, as long as they're different then the original names (this is so that Halo 2 doesn't recognize that you have the new maps installed). I used "($u)" and "($C)".That's the last FTPing that you will have to do. Yay!!! if you don't have a trainers folder in you're e drive part jsut make a folder on ur desktop called trainers and put the yelo15.etm in that folder then just transfer the fold u made called trainers to you're E drive and that part is done. and when he say's remane the folder's just do this ($u) and make the other one the same ($c) ur jsut adding the 2 things at the start and end of the folder thats about it for that part. now for this part this might confuse alot of poeple but i'm here to help ya'll like how Dem Pyros helped me by making this tut for me to read lol. Quote: First things first, Xored. ALSO i would like to add that if you're screen flash's it's because you're doing it a bit wrong you need to load you're trainer form you're "applications" tag in you're modded dash board and that problem should be fixed and if it isn't then i'm sorry but thats how mine works so i'm just saying how mine works but it might work with your's too but i'm also useing the "krazy's" modded dash with "evox" and the skin i'm useing is "gears" dunno if that help's at all lol. i hope i helped out any but if any one's pissed at me for adding a little more detail i'm sry i was only trying to help make it more clealy cuz thos were the part's that i was stuck on untill i tryed going with what i thought was right. but all and all it's a damn good and great tutorial 10/10 and who ever say's this tutorial screwed up you're xbox i'm sorry to say but this can't screw you're xbox up and i'm sorry if it did but i don't know what happend i wasn't there. any ways getting of subject lol. nicely made tutorial i loved it and i hope i helped out a little bit ![]() i also like this because i can use this on xbc! ^^ i know i sound like a broken record but i hope i helped some people out a little bit but now i'm off to download some AI mods WOOT ^^ Last edited by mew renee; 07-12-2007 at 09:27 AM.. | ||||||

| Guest | Make sure that the .ini of the Xored application is edited to show a different folder for where the trainers should be, and put the Yelo trainer file into that folder. |
