Samsungs and Philips drives accept almost all media, Thompson drives accept everything except DVD+ Media and CD-/+RW

The brand of the media matters, too.

DVD R DL (Duel Layered) I would recommend Verbatim brand. They can be purchased at Best Buy.

thats a lie, i have a thompson and it accepts DVD+RW media, it also accepts cd+rw, for both of these i have to turn the xbox on and off like 20 times to try to get it to load, it could just be the brand

xbox games are put on DVD+R Dual Layer Disks, they are expensive, and your need a special drive to burn on 2 layers, also if your planning to burn games to it a retail xbox drive wont be able to read it, it will stil see it as dvd+r dl and not dvdxbox because its not signed with a special code only microsoft has, so untill somone gets that, no burned games on live, unless you have flashed firmware. but i heard there guna start banning for thats sooooo yea
