Nominated 1 Time in 1 Post | ICS Bridging - Mac OS X Bridging With DoorStop X Wireless Bridging With Mac OS X Tutorial by Krafty Credit to luisgarcia87 & Donkeytron Jeeze-flippin christ, what kept you? Life. Believe or not I have one outside the forums. But I gave credit to the two who made the first tutorials. I finally got it to work. Well, if they made one, whats the point of this?
There we're some parts I didnt understand, this is just a noob-proof in-depth guide. Whatever dude, what do I need?
You need a wireless connection via Airport & a ethernet cable to your Xbox/360. So the setup is? Ethernet Cable -> Ethernet Port of your Mac
Make sure wireless connection is active. Am I ready? Hell if I know, im starting... Step 1:
Open System Preferences
Step 2:
Under "Internet & Network," Click "Sharing"
Step 3:
Now, select "Internet"
Step 4:
Make sure "Built-in Ethernet" is checked, then press start
Step 5:
Now, go to your Hard Drive -> Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
Step 6:
Now, in terminal, type in "ifconfig en0" (Last character is a Zero).
Step 7:
Near the section where it says "ether," look for something along the lines of "inet xxx.xxx.x.x"
I picked up 198.162.2.1
Now look for the next IP after it, which is your router. Mines was 192.168.0.1
Step 8:
Now I did this on a 360, so for Xbox users you shouldn't be any different.
Go to "network settings"
You will need to manually put in the IPs
Go to -> Manual
Set to IP +1 of your inet. So using the one I got, input 192.168.2.2
Subnet should be 255.255.255.0 be default
Gateway should be 192.168.0.1
For 360 users, your going to have to test your connections to save the changes, just say "test xbox live" and then cancel when its testing.
Step 9:
Under DNS, input your wireless router. So for me, it would be 192.168.0.1 for both Primary & Secondary.
Now, do the same, "Test" then cancel.
Leave PPPoE and the other thing alone.
Now try testing the connections and it should work all the way through. Now For Forcing Host What you will need is DoorStop X Code: http://www.opendoor.com/DoorStop/DoorStopX1.1.1.dmg
Serial: 29106595842145
 Step 1:
Under the list of services, (The Bigger List), press "new" (the one on the left)
Step 2:
Now that window should pop up. Under port number, put "3074" and name it "Halo 2" or "I Need 2 Cheat 4 Rank" or...moving on....
Step 3:
Now press "Ok"
Now it should show up in the list of services.
Now, select it and press the "new" button to the right (under the shorter list)
Step 4:
Do this 3 times,
1st time: enter "65.59.234.161"
2nd time: enter xbox IP, in this case "192.168.2.2."
3rd time: enter your friends IP
Step 5:
Now, go up to the Preferences, go to the "Advanced" tab, and make sure it looks just like this
Step 6:
Once your done with that, Make sure your friend has made the party, once he has, join his party.
Then, above the list of IPs, switch it to "Allow Acces From Only Addresses In List"
And then, press "Start," and if you have followed this tutorials correctly, your friend should be bridged. To turn it off, when you press start, it will say "Stop," just press "Stop" to urn the bridge off.
Hope that helped
