That would be correct. Something with only one port usually distributes a connection (broadband or dialup) and is referred to as a modem.

Router != Switch... If it did I wouldn't need a Router to get the four comps and three xboxes in my house online. o.O; There are differences. Router takes the IP your ISP assigns you and splits it into up to 254 sub-IPs so you can have more than one device on the internet at any given time. A switch takes a signal from point A to point B. A hub broadcasts a signal to ALL connected devices with no reguards to a designated destination, so all devices see what's going on. Switch almost = a hub, except it is better for the fact that it can send signals where it needs to go instead of all over the place.

Yes, any IP that begins with 192.168 is a local IP for your local network. So every local network begins with 192.168 and then can have any numbers from there (don't complain yet dark I know they only go 0-255). Your IP looks pretty regular.

Im still learning about using computer programs for xbox. I have a couple questions still. The first is do we need an xbin ( i believe its called)/ new xbox dashboard to connect to the xbox. Because I used flashFXP and I have the same problem. I can't connect to it. I have posted on afterdawn.com about FTPing and stuff like it, and they have told me to get a new xbox dashboard. If I do need to get a new dashboard, can someone give me a site to download from. Even if I dont need one, can some tell me a site. I have searched for Slayers Auto installerl, avalaunch, evoX, UnleashX, and many more but can not get any to work. Thanks a lot, nice thread Azzid

Ok, well you need to first softmod your xbox. Go to the softmodding section, either do SID or AID. Either way, you will need SID along the way. Make sure you have Action Replay (you can find it at best buy).

alright i have my xbox hooked up to my computer and when i try to use craxtion 4.0 it says that it doesnt connet to my xbox. It says to check the ip and port and also password and stuff but the ip is right i think . So what do i need to do to get it to work. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif[/img]

You need to look at your xbox's ip thru the moddec dash.

alright when i try to disc rip a game through craxtion 4.0 it pops up with a error after its done and says something about i need to get jitDebugging for it to work. where can i download this from.

Go to craxtion.com and download an earlier version of craxtion...that might be the problem.

once i have ftp'ed in the xbox through my internet can i go into my c drive and delete the evoxdash. And if i do will it go back to the regular xbox dash. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif[/img]

dont do that lol that will delete your whole dash and all even the reg just get a clean m$ dash from me on aim and put it in the c folder and its back to normal

Okay, I followed all steps with using craxtion to make backups. I got the data on my HD then I went to create iso and all went well. I then made my backup copy with dvd decrypter and tried to play it and all i get is a blank screen. Now, i have used other iso's and they play and load just fine so i know the problem isnt there its only when i try to make my own i just get a blank screen. The game isnt that big so i know that isnt the problem either. If somebody knows what im doing wrong could you please post a reply or PM me. Thanks.

My softmods work so that, I put in splinter cell, then open up the EvoX Dashboard through running splinter cell, it's not installed onto my Xbox or anything, when I press the Eject button it goes to regular xbox dashboard, could I still do this?
