Hence the reason you would use a modchip which most will let you switch between stock and not stock.

um.. so i was wondering if you could use like usb to xbox adaptor to hook up an external hard drive and use it like another partition or something and if so will it be really slow?
You know i have heard of something like this before but i have never actually seen it. I would just suggest following some of my tuts. They should help you.

To get on Live with a bigger HD couldnt you just partition it to be the normal size. With 2 eeproms and two HD's, one 10G and the other 10g/(insert#)G, coundt you swtich between the 2 HD's and foold xbl (Buy Cheap XBL Codes) into thinking that it was 2 xbox's?

Okay,

I have everything I need for this tut (which is very easy to follow by the way!) but when I start up evox I'm running version +3935 and there is no utilities menu to do a backup! I have the settings menu but there isn't anything for this. Am I doing something wrong? Not doing something? I have a 250 hd just waiting and I'm freaking out!!!!

Thanks in advance for any help regarding this matter.

I hope I'm not bumping topics but I had to post. To get onto live with a bigger hard drive and not get banned here's what you have to do. First off it needs to be a chip mod because a softmodded harddrive can't go on live in the first place. The chip will allow you to boot to your ms dash board. Secondly, this harddrive/ modchip must be done prior to your xbox ever signing onto live. If you have ever signed onto live with your xbox it will not work. Bungie takes your harddrive signature and pairs it with your motherboard, so if bungie sees a 200g harddrive paired with the motherboard for the first time it thinks ok cool, but if you change the HDD after you have logged onto live with a smaller or original harddrive bungie will see that the Motherboard and HDD do not pair up anymore, and it's off to banville. Anyone can tell me i'm wrong but I have a 180g in my xbox and play online all the time. If you have questions plz go ahead and post. Hope this helps

Simple answer is no. xbl (Buy Cheap XBL Codes) can monitor Hard Drive sizes i am living proof of that.Click the image to open in full size.

so does this mean that if you upgrade your hd you can't go online at all? or is this just if you get a new eeprom? if you saved a backup of your eeprom before you switch are you ok?
