formating a hard drive

i did a system restore on my xbox and it like deleted everything off my hardrive and whenever i turn my xbox on with or without a disk in, it goes to the error screen. can anyone tell me how to reformat it or something. or, i have a 40 gb hdd from my old desktop, is there a way that i can format that to use in my xbox????????

im not sure if you have a chip or what so post more details, are you using the stock drive now?

if it will boot a backup disk get slayers, use the restore to stock option, do NOT install anything else with it unless you have a modchip.

if it doesnt boot slayers there maybe other easy fixes.

if you were softmodding and the gamesave is still on the harddrive. reinstall the softmod just run the exploitable game and load the gamesave, then run slayers, it has a restore option.

if the gamesave isnt there and the xbox doesnt boot backups, you will need your eeprom/hdd key. you did make a backup of those right?

unlock, repair , then relock using your pc.

if none of these help you will need to give more details before anyone can help you.

yea i did make a slayers disk before i restored but when it was done it dosnt read any disks it just goes to the error screen, and it dosnt go to any dashboard it just goes to a error screen

and i dont have i modchip
and it has all stock parts

LMAO! How did you manage a system restore lol, did you not notice the warning it most likely gives " WARNING: THIS WILL FORMAT YOUR HARD DRIVE LEAVING IT WITH **** ALL, ARE YOU SURE YOU WISH TO CONTINUE?" who in there right mind continue's if they dont know what to do after?

Anyway enough with my accuztions, do you have your epprom and hddkey backed up?
