btw, do i have to be connected to the internet while i connect to my xbox?.. cuz i can't do that. i use an ethernet wire to connect from my cable modem to my computer... and i use an ethernet wire to connect from my xbox to my computer.. the problem is, i only have one spot on my computer that i can plug an ethernet cable into :\

edit: ooohh, looks like i'll be buying a router then. :\

some1 plz help me. i have been trying to FTP my xbox for 2 days now and i am getting no where. my network is DHCP ip is 192.168.15.104 setup network: yes use static ip: no Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0 default gateway 192.168.0.1 DNS 0.0.0.0 FTP enable: yes password: xbox telnet enable:yes. Looks like a problem w/ your gateway or your DNS. I dont know...its hard to see what all the mumbo jumbo is w/ out punctuation.

whats wrong??
I turned static off, saved and exit , Reboot xbox.. then it came up with ip adress: 192.168.1.106
\I entered it into flashFXP username:xbox pass:xbox Clicked connect and it didnt work. whats wrong?

Do you have them going through the same router? Looks like you have everything right...but I dont know whats going on. Maybe you have a firewall on too and its blocking port 21. If you can, open that port up and see if you can get in.

I got the IP address of my brand new non modded X Box.

I connected it to my computer with my system link crossover cable and on the bottom of your windows screen it will say you have limited or no connectability.

Then go to the control panel and choose network connections.

Click details and it will give you the IP address of your X Box.

I wasn't able to do anything but it was a way to get your x box IP address without modding it at all.

That is correct. But it's you're lucky day. If you're too cheap to go buy a crossover, or just have an extra cat-5 layin' around, you can make one. PM me if you want the details...

I'm not azzid, but you can connect them in one of two ways.
1. Computer - router - xbox. You need regular old Cat-5 (network) cables. Set the xbox's DHCP settings to Automatic...
2. Computer - xbox. This requires a crossover cable. Also, you have to set the IP address for your xbox to static, and make it in the same address range as your PC.

I'm sure you can, but I dont know how All I've ever FTP'd with is routers. I'm sure someone here knows how you can do it. Check out technique's post on FTP'ing...there might be some valuable info for you.
