Requirements:
Modified Xbox - Click
HERE if you would like to know how to mod your Xbox.
FTP Client - Click
HERE for FlashFXP. You can use other clients, but this is the most widely used client for the Xbox.
Computer - I'd hope you have this since you are on the internet
Router - This is how your Xbox and Computer will be "linked" together. This tutorial will only work if you are using a router.
Here's how the router configuration should look like:
A common question:
What does FTP mean?! -Answer: FTP means File Transfer Protocol.
Before we get started:
Step 1: Have the Xbox turned on to your Modded dash (Evox, UnleashX, etc). If you don't have a modded dash then you don't know how to read the first requirement.
Step 2: Go into the settings>network settings in your modded dash. Change the IP set to DHCP aka Automatic IP on your Xbox.
Step 3: Make sure you Xbox is connected to your computer through a router.
Let's begin Step 1: Open your FTP program and turn your Xbox on. Be sure you are in your modified dash (EvoX, UnleashX, etc.)
Step 2: Go to Quick Connect. If you are using FlashFXP, this is what it should look like.
Step3: Put your Xbox's IP where it says Server or URL. For username, use
xbox. For password, use
xbox. That's what it is defaulted to.
When you are connected, this is what it should look like.
Troubleshooting
Q: The connection is timing out, what do I do?
A: Go back to your modded dash, make sure the IP is set to
automatic or
DHCP. When you change it, be sure that you
save and exit or else the settings won't be saved. Once the settings are changed and saved, restart your Xbox and check for your IP again. The IP will be the FIRST IP shown when going into network settings.
