| How to Model ------------------------- Programs that you'll need: 1) Dark Matter 2) Dothalo 3) Insolence (includes serenity) 4) MilkShape3D ------------------------- Step 1: Exporting ------------------------- 1) Open Dark Matter and the map u want to model in. 2) Go down to the model tag and click on which ever weapon u want to edit. 3) Click on the model tag, and a window will pop-up. This window is called the Model Viewer. 4) In the Model Viewer click on export and save the model on ur desktop. ------------------------- Step 2: Modelling ------------------------- 1) After u save it open MilkShape 3D. 2) In MilkShape click on File>import>Wavefront Object. 3) Go to the model you exported's folder and click on the model with the highest LOD (number). Then click open. 4) Edit your gun you can use the tools on your right for example such as adding a silencer to the model using the cylinder tool, and then moving it around and rotating. ----------------------- Step 3: Injecting ----------------------- 1) When your done modelling go to file>export>wavfrontObj save it on ur Desktop. 2) Copy and paste the model you saved on your desktop two times and rename the three copies so they can have the same name as the three models that you exported from darkmatter. If you have any problems when you import, try to copy and paste the names. 3) Now Drag the renamed ones into the folder with the three original ones and overwrite all of the original models. 4) Next open Dark Matter again and go to the model tag and click on the model and in the model viewer click on import and click on the .obj folder you saved on your desktop, and click ok. It will ask you to save the meta somewhere, so save it on your desktop and call it meta, and save it in that folder. 5) After it finishes (saving the meta will take a while, so don't click the window so it says program is not responding). KEEP THE MODEL VEIWER OPEN! You have to go to tools (which you will find in the Dark Matter's main menu on the top). Now Add to Map, but remember DONT CLOSE THE MODEL VIEWER! After you click Add to Map a window will pop-up. Look for the folder that you saved your meta in, and click ok. 6) Now you are done with Dark Matter you may close it. 7) Open Insolence and the map you added the new model to. 8) Go down to the model tag, and you will see that you have two models (the original, and the one you modelled). 9) What you have to do is right click on the second model object and rename it to whatever you want. 10) When you're done go to the hlmt tag, and click on the model, and change the IFP plugin to DEV mode, and click on All Dependencies under Show. 11) Now change the mode tag from the original to the newly renamed model (the one you made). 12) Click on Map Options and Fix Encryption and your done. 13) Now to make it look in first person 14) Export the FP model of the model you editted earlier, and then copy the 3D model and rename it to the one in the FP folder. 15) Now open Dark Matter, import the model, and save the meta in a NEW FOLDER. 16) Go to Tools>Add to Map, click on the folder you saved the meta in. Wait for it to be done. 17) Open Insolence rename the the FP model (most of the time its the second one). 18) Close Insolence and open Dothalo. 19) Copy and paste the meta offset of the newly named fp model, and paste it over the original one. 20) Save Changes, and Fix Encryption, sign your map, and go FTP. | hey, i didnt look at the date on this topic too see if it was old. But i cant open a Mode tag on my darkmatter. It gives me the error and closes it. Did i do anything wrong? | ||||||

| you guys have the wrong version of dark matter.., you need the alpha one version. 1 question...you know how you said to use the same model to inject into the fp model...which one? the one with the highest number for the lod number or what? | ||||||

| where can i find dark matter alpha?? i've googled, searched here and about 3 or 4 other sites and all of them i keep having the same problem with the errors so where is the TRUE dark matter alpha? BL00D | ||||||

| You forgot another thing. you need Shared.map, Single_player_shared.map, and Mainmenu in the folder with the map your injecting models with or you will get an error on almost eveything | ||||||

| can someone post the keygen for milkshape, I just have the installer file saved on my computer so i can re-install it when it runs out but thats gay and i'm too lazy. also, where is the alpha version of dark matter. I have directX, shared, single_player_shared, mainmenu, and i still get the unhaldled exception error whenever i click on a weapon model. | ||||||

| jesus christ brand, you are a premium member and only have 1 post, dang, i guess you climb the ladder quickly when you got some mulah$$$. I'll try to help if I can, I'm doing it right now and I did it earlier, but for some reason when I added to the map, there was only one and not the original, oh well what ever, i'll keep you posted unless someone else does first. | Got the same prob as marhanen but can't find any working fix or anything like that... EDIT: Found out what was wrong, was missing a font, dark matter works without any problems, but when i inject the third person view only, i am able to resign, but when i ftp to my xbox and try to start the map, i just get a black screen...
