well theres this process called license transfer and when you license transfer an account you a new xbox 360 console you can use that downloaded content on diffrent profiles online or offline

how does this process let me get free xbox live dlcs?
well lets say you wanted the call of duty 5 map pack 1 but you dont have any ms points to buy it and your friend has the map pack
pretty much you would
1. recover his account on to your xbox and than go to xbox.com and sign him in your xbox and on xbox.com
than go to this link Xbox.com | System Use - Transferring Content Licenses to a New Console and follow the 2 easy steps than his licenses will be stored on your xbox
2. view his purchase history
3. download the dlc you want to use on your xbox
4. repeat step 3 til all dlcs you want to use is on your xbox

do i need the account on my xbox to use his dlc and does he need to be signed in?
no you dont need the account to be on your harddrive after you finish downloading your dlcs and they can be used by anyone on your xbox online or offline

1. is there a catch to this process?
yes unfortunally there is this process can only be used once every 12 months




2. can my friend still play his dlcs after i do this process?
***yes he/she can use their dlc after you license transfer their account they just have to download the dcl first

Great TuT. But i have found a way that works about the same but a lot easier.:
1. You or your freind has the microsoft ponits.
2. Then the person without the microsoft points recovers the other persons account.
3. once you have the persons account with the microsoft points you can go DL the dlc(s). but you have to be the first to download the dlc(s).
4. once you have downloaded the dlc its consol and profile id#'s change to yours.

as long as your the first to download it you both can have the dlc(s). :D

wow,now all I need is a friend with an Xbox 360,halo 3,and the mythic map pack,and the trust needed to for him to give me his login to Windows Live ID.....and its rare to see an Xbox in my town. Is there any other way? a way that doesn't require 2 gamertags and one having the DLC?

no not to my knowledge but make a trade with someone you know give him 1600 ms points or 3 months of xbox live for the use of his gamertag cause you can get content worth much more that 1600 ms points or 3 months of live thats what i did with my friend and i was able to download the mythic mappack the cod5 mappack and lots of gh3 content and all of it would be worth much more than 6000 ms points so in my opinion its worth the money

Not worth anything at all. License transfers are a way to **** over the original owner. This method is stupid and if that certain person knows what happens after its done and they have a brain they would not even do it with you. Especially since it can only be done 1 time a year. The original owner looses his ability to use his dlc content while not being connected to live and so on. So license transfer=fail.

Also this is not a glitch in their system. Do you even know what the real reason behind this is even for? This is for the people that needed to recover their content after having to get a new 360. Why? Because their old 360 that was broken or what ever has the license tagged to its serial #. So this was so that they could recover all the license's that they lost when they had to get a new 360 for what ever reason. NOT A GLITCH AT ALL! This is also the worst and most douchbag way of getting dlc content from someone that doesnt really know what going on....

this sounds interesting. My brother has the maps and I've already got them on my box, but I don't have the liscenses, so if I transfer them from his box to mine, then when he recovers his tag, he can still use them? Kinda makes me nervous to try cause if I screw itip, I owe him a mythic map pack!!!

Um I don't know if you know this but this is not a glitch. I am pretty sure you don't even know the real reason for the license transfer to begin with. These things have been discussed before and they fail for the reason of the original owner of the content loosing all offline rights to the dlc. 12months intervals also makes this a terrible idea. This is more of a scam than anything.

This isnt a gt transfer thing. This is handing over ALL of your dlc license's. Meaning that the person that is transferring their dlc away is no longer going to be able to play them offline.

Also OP you don't even know the true reason for this feature it is not a "glitch in their system":thumbdown:

i did this it is a nice loophole in microsoft i think it was ment for the RROD but is now turned into a way to get free stuff rofl you will be able play the dlc stuff on both accounts so dont worry about it

hey it works idk y you guys are complaining and no if the person has already downloaded his dlcs before the license transfer he can still use them offline but if he redownloads them he wont be able to use them offline my bro and i did it with the cod5 map pack one and he can still use the map pack offline and that last line was infact scarscasm
