This tutorial will show you the proper way to install lights in your hdd.

How to install lights in Xbox 360 HDD

Items needed:

  • LED's of your choice
  • Wire
  • Hot glue gun
  • A Soldering Iron
  • Solder

For this tutorial we will be using a HDD that has been modified so we can see through it.

Step 1: Take apart the HDD

I think I will do this, but I want to know if you put those LED's and wires together yourself or ordered them. They look very uniform.
If you ordered them, link please?

It doesnt really matter to be honest. Get the 5's just cause they are a tad cheaper.

Only concern I have here is power usage. Think the leds will pull to much power?:?

No, leds don't really use much power.

I no that but some things are touchy. The only reason I bring this up is because they sell power adders for the 360 to add more leds. Wonder how many leds your safe using without em?

Well actually the power adders would really only be used for fans not leds. You would need a ****ING LOT of leds to need more power. I guess you can have to much power just on one power source/ point. Like how the fan power source can only produce 12 v.

I am currently drawing power away from my benq drive for two xcm (XCM 360 core cooler version 2) led fans and for the talismoon 12v "nitro" switch on my rear fans... Would this affect anything?

To be honest I dont see how it wouldnt. I am wanting to put some more fans in mine but I am not sure where to get the power from. How long have you been running this setup?
