Metal Gear Solid coming to the Xbox 360 soon?
New Kojima Productions website has details possibly pointing to MGS game on the 360

Konami sure knows how to cause a stir. An update to the official Konami’s Kojima Productions website seems to suggest that Metal Gear Solid may finally make its way to the Xbox 360. We will admit that this might be a bit of stretch but the black and green coloring of the symbol-filled website is reminiscent of the colors used to advertise the Xbox 360. The Universal symbol for Power, which is prominently displayed on the front of the Xbox 360, is now front and center on Konami’s website. Rumors that the Playstation exclusive title will jump ship to the Xbox platform have been floating around for a while now, so such an announcement is not completely unexpected. Wild speculation continues to run rampant though, with Kotaku interpreting the “i” to mean iPhone, DSi, or Wii. The upside down “i” is used in PSP-based Metal Gear Acid so the new announcement may be related to that game and not the console version, Metal Gear Solid. Kotaku also points out that the URL contains the phrase “mgst” which could mean Metal Gear Solid Touch? Konami has been silent on the matter saying that it does not comment on speculation and apologized for providing only the “standard line” as a response. All we can deduce with some degree of certainty is that Konami has something new on the horizon for the Metal Gear franchise and it wants everyone to start talking about it. We will happily oblige them. Any gamers out there? Feel free to chat this up in the comments - additional rampant speculation is not only welcome, it is expected.

That would be so sick if it moves over to the 360. I highly doubt that is possible though.

I doubt this ad has anything to do with the 360, I mean people are going off the fact that they show the universal power symbol and that appears on the front of the 360. I mean it isnt like the 360 is the only thing that uses that symbol or is really even known for using it. Even if it is something for the 360 I doubt it is MGS 4 because there is nothing in there that would lead one to think it is that spefic game. I would guess it has more to do with the Metal Gear Acid games because the exclamination point was used in their ad campagin.

If its true sweet, now one more reason to not buy a PS3 and save cash.

Wouldn't that be called an exclamation point "!"? I haven't played the Acid game but that's fits the description LOL.

Oh, but they can. All they have to do is put it on multiple discs.

dude are you kidding. 40gb in 7.29 increments?

That's 5.4 but since its discs. That's 6 ****ing discs. Past 2 discs the loyalty fees get ****ing expensive and you have to sell the game for more than 60 bucks.

That and the games engine utilizes form of HDR, AA, shaders, shadows, and reflections that wouldn't even run on the 360s crap-tastic 256mb GPU. That and the script has so many playstation puns that it would involve redoing about 45% fo cinematics.
In the middle of a 30 minute cinematic theres a joke about "HURRY SNAKE ENTER DISC 2 NOW BEFORE YOU LOOSE YOUR PROGRESS!!!" "are you an idiot otakon .. this is blu-ray, we can hold a ton more capacity than DVDs can" "Oh yeah, Phew, I forgot about that, now back to business" "blarg story stuff blarg blarg"

THat and the game was designed to utlize the cel processors and oriented for it. porting that in any way wouldn't work.

So remake the entire engine, script, game, make it shorter, less impressive, and look worse .. just so it can work on the 360?

**** that.

While I dont know about the loyalty fees becoming too much after 2 discs (Blue Dragon had 3 discs and I got it for like $30).

However I completely agree that it would never work for MGS4 to be on the 360 because of the engine. I mean it could be reoptimized but that would involve detuning much of what made the game impressive (Textures, shaders, HDR, ect.). It would be extremely difficult to make a game that was made for a much more powerful system and then later say "hey wouldnt it be fun to see if we can somehow make this run on a much weaker system?" Think of it like trying to run Gears of War on an xbox 1. It just wouldnt work.

Gamby is right much of the jokes in MGS4 would have to be removed as well. I think people need to face that MGS4 may have nothing to do with this new ad. It just isnt likely.

Playing a game the uses mutiple disk is not really good at all. I played Lost Odyssey for 360, which btw packs 4 ****ing disc. I wouldn't mind playing Metal gear Solid 4 for 360 but its not gonna happen. If anyone hasn't noticed, all of the MGS series is just a movie with little game play. We are talking like 7 disc or so for MGS4 on the 360 just to play for 20 mins actual gameplay. No thanks, I'll just buy a Wii before i touch it.

Well you guys could talk about discs and all that but maybe microsoft is looking ahead. Maybe we could see this as a digital download or part disk part digital download. With that said, doesnt that seem more plausable and give more reason to maybe agree it is coming to the 360?

Why would anybody want to download the game?

Alright im 14 but im not stupid. It was announced when mgs 4 was first realeased that for a fact, it was going to be released on 360 but they needed more space. Also, because of blueray and other technical reasons the more than wounderous ps3 has now dwindled to the semi cool system that every noob wants. Dont get me wrong, they have some good *** graphics and games but they cant keep up with the production of the 360. Maybe they came to their senses and revised the game for the 360. As its always said, if you cant beat em join em, and they certainly havent dropped out yet. Hope this helps and no offense sony, blue ray aint worth D**K!:)

its a 40gb dude, thats 2/3 of the 60gb hdd. double the 20gb hdd. and 1/4th of the 120. it would never be direct download. and that wouldn't solve engine problems

You say that you think MGS4 can be "revised" for the 360, but what it seems most people are failing to realize is these "revisions" to make games multi platform is what made the PS3 games early on look bad, because they were optimized primarily a different system. The only way I can conceivably imagine MGS4 on the 360 is for the game to look horrible in comparison to the original.

And if blu ray aint worth "d**k" that why did the Microsoft endorsed HD-DVD fail miserably? Oh thats right because it needed more SPACE, and guess what if people keep wanting crappy ports for whatever system they will always look worse when going from being optimized for a greater disc space to a lower. They could go multi disc, but even that idea has its own problems. Finally even if people wanted to install these games to the HDD you would still have to launch each disc individually, so you may as well just use the discs anyway because they will not run seamlessly that I can garuntee.
