Insane tips---

Easy Insane

Beat the game on any difficulty to unlock the insane difficulty. Now the trick is to go to the co-op campaign split-screen or online and choose the same save that you beat the game on. Now pick Act 1 Chapter 1 then for your main profile choose “Insane” difficulty and for the 2nd controller or second player choose Casual. Now just take the 2nd controller or get the second player to play the game while you sit in a corner. That way you can get the “Insane” achievement but it is on Casual difficulty for the 2nd controller. It took us 5-6 hours just take the 1st controller to take cover if you want.

Once More, With Feeling 10 G
Perform 30 perfect active reloads (any mode)

All you have to do for this one is active reload 30 times which is really easy if you have ok timing and you should get good at this because it is a big part of the game. All you have to do is have any gun out and shoot at least one bullet off then hit the left bumper button and start to reload. You will notice under the picture of your gun and ammo in the top right corner their will be a meter that appears with a moving needle moving across it. You must hit the left bumper again when the needle get into the whitest part of the meter. If done correctly your character usually says something joyful like “**** Yeah” and also you will notice that your bullet in your clip are flashing meaning you did the reload right and your bullets will do more damage.

Takes a Licking 30
Melee 30 Tickers (any mode)

Tickers are the suicide bombers of Gears of War 2. These little creature run straight up to you blow themselves yup at your feet very much like the lambent wretches in Gears of War 1. Although these buggers are small they aren’t very sneaky. You can hear these guys coming for you because of the constant ticking sound they make, thus them earning the name tickers.

To earn this achievement you must simply hit B to perform a melee when these creatures run at you. They must be at a very close distance to hit them with your melee but you will know you got them when they go flipping up into the air and blow up.

Warning: These guys might not be very powerful alone but with the help of others they can trap you can blow you up in a second.

See “Smells Lick Victory”

See “Variety is the Spice of Death” for details on this weapon.

Smells like Victory 10 G
Kill 30 enemies with the Scorcher Flamethrower (any mode)

You will most likely get this achievement by going for theSuicide Missionary” achievement because you have to beat the campaign 1 time to unlock the insane difficulty but if you don’t we suggest you play online or play a player match. If you’re doing a player match sign in another controller then start the game. If you don’t have another controller you can also do achievements against the bots or friends which are effective methods too. So chose a map with the weapon required for the achievement or set all the weapons on map to the gun needed. Pick it up then go kill them 30 times back to back. We recommend doing this on a game type with respawns because you can kill the person over and over with out having the round end every time and having to go back and pick up the weapon again.

Also see “Variety is the Spice of Death” for details on this weapon.

Variety is the Spice of Death 30 G
Kill an enemy with every weapon in the game (any mode)

To get this achievement you must kill one enemy with all 15 weapons in the game. He is a list and description of the weapons:

Boomshot Grenade Launcher
A Locust short to mid-range grenade launcher that can easily take down a target in a single shot. The projectile produces several smaller explosions after the initial blast. But it suffers a slow reload time and should never be used at close range—the force of the explosion may kill you along with the target. It comes loaded with three rounds which do little damage without making direct contact, but a perfect reload fires two rockets at once for a massive explosion.

Frag Grenade

This explosive attached to a chain can be used both as a projectile and as a melee weapon. Its launch system works similar to a classic bolo, in which you twirl the weapon to build momentum before releasing it. Given the device’s small blast radius and inability to breach an enemy’s cover point, the Frag Grenade demands pinpoint accuracy. Grenades can also be tagged to enemies at close range for an explosive, messy kill. There have been reports of grenades being tagged to walls as improvised as trip mines.

Gnasher Shotgun

A powerful shotgun that’s ideal for close-range combat. Its 8-round capacity may seem limiting, but the force per shot more than makes up for its modest clip size. In tight areas, such as inside buildings, the Gnasher delivers a devastating one-shot kill to almost any enemy within range.

Gorgon Pistol

A semiautomatic pistol favored by the Locust Kantus. It’s one of the highest-caliber weapons, with a dual clip that squeezes off two rounds simultaneously and makes it extremely lethal, especially at close range. The Gorgon’s power, however, is offset by its small clip and long reloads because both barrels must be restocked.

Hammerburst Assault Rifle

This is the Locust counterpart to the COG Lancer. It lacks the Lancer’s trademark chainsaw, but the semiautomatic Hammerburst is more powerful and accurate and also has limited zoom sight ability. You can fire the Hammerburst faster with rapid trigger pulls; however, firing speed comes at the cost of accuracy because the weapon then kicks like a wild animal.

Hammer of Dawn

It’s an Emulsion-powered satellite that rains down a devastating particle energy stream. It can wipe out anything from small Locust squads to entire city blocks. However, to align the satellite with its intended target, you must use the handheld laser designator to establish a line-of-sight relationship with the target, often under heavy enemy fire. The hammer carries only three charges; charging it a fourth time will result in self-detonation.

Lancer Assault Rifle

The trademark weapon of the COG military, the Lancer is a fully automatic assault rifle that’s perfect for short- to mid-range combat. Its chainsaw bayonet is a powerful melee weapon that takes out most enemies in a single blow. New uses for the Lancer continue to emerge, with recent reports of "chainsaw duels," which combine the chainsaw attack with traditional sword fighting. It can also be used to cut a path through overgrown areas.

Long Shot Sniper Rifle

The Longshot is a high-powered, bolt-action sniper rifle with a powerful zoom sight. It can incapacitate an enemy with a single shot, and the zoom attachment provides pinpoint accuracy at long distances—perfect for headshots. But with one-shot rounds, you better make the first shot count. There may not be time for a second.

Ink Grenade

The Ink Grenade is actually a baby Nemacyst inker attached to a bolo grenade, commonly used by the Locust Kantus. After it explodes, it emits a cloud of noxious gas that blinds and poisons any target within range.

Snub Pistol

The Snub Pistol is a standard-issue, semiautomatic sidearm with a 12-round clip and a long-distance zoom sight for improved accuracy. It’s not the most powerful pistol, but its precision and ease of use make the Snub a valuable backup.

Torque Bow

The Torque Bow fires high-powered explosive-tipped arrows that discharge shortly after contact. Because of the bow’s unique targeting reticule, which maps the arrow’s trajectory, the Torque Bow is one of the most accurate weapons, especially at long distances. This comes with a tradeoff, however, because you must hold the trigger for a short duration before the arrow sticks into surfaces (or foes.) The Torque Bow’s sharp blades also make it an effective melee weapon.

Boltok Pistol

The Boltok is a high-caliber magnum sidearm that fires devastating single blasts. The pistol’s powerful rounds are offset by its small clip and slow reload, but a perfect active reload lets you rearm and fire faster. The Boltok is lightweight and easy to hold with one hand, which makes it, the Snub, and the Gorgon pistols the only weapons you can wield when using an enemy as a shield.

Mortar

The Mortar is a powerful artillery bomb that rains down on multiple enemies. The Mortar’s hefty size reduces your speed and maneuverability. It’s also highly inaccurate when fired blindly, and you can’t access its targeting system until it’s planted firmly on the ground. However, once it’s equipped, the Mortar fires a bomb that breaks apart midair in a hail of tiny, deadly explosives.

Mulcher

The Mulcher is similar to its sister weapon, the Locust Troika. Blind firing is wildly inaccurate. For maximum effect, mount the turret to a sturdy surface so you can aim with both hands. The Mulcher overheats after extended use, so fire in bursts to avoid jamming, and active reload to increase cooling.

Scorcher Flamethrower

The Scorcher Flamethrower is a short- to mid-range weapon that emits a concentrated stream of fire that chars your enemies. The Scorcher also produces a bright flash that temporarily blinds opponents and leaves them vulnerable to a quick flame burst. A perfect active reload shoots flames at even greater distances.

Seriously 2.0 50 G
Kill 100,000 enemies (any mode)
A really quick way to get this is by load up the very last chapter (closure). Since you are riding the Brumak you have a lot of fire power and lots of enemies. Right when you start there will be about 40 locusts in a group right in front of you, and about another 40 a few feet from them. Take out the back row of 40 with some missiles, then the front row next.

Restart the chapter and repeat. About every 2 reloads you get 100 kills and it takes about 3 minuets each time. So about if you did this for about 11 hours you will have the Seriously 2.0 achievement.

If you don’t want to boost we suggest you do all the campaign achievements first then play hoard until you get this.

Back to Basic 10 G
Successfully complete the 5 lessons of multiplayer Training Grounds

On the main menu there will be an option called Training Grounds. Select this option and you will begin a tutorial on how to play the game. You must complete all 5 lessons for the achievement. We recommended you do as one of your first achievements of this game because when you first start to play the game it is interesting to learn but if you wait till campaign is done and you play a lot of multiplayer then you will be bored out of your mind while doing this.

Around the World, Again 30 G
Win a multiplayer match on each map (any mode)

To earn this achievement you must win a multiplayer match (ranked or unranked) or horde match on all the multiplayer maps:

Avalanche

Don't bother bringing your skis to this winter wonderland. Instead, grab your snow boots. During play, a timed avalanche powers its way down the mountain and buries all of the ammo. It also leaves behind a scary fog that. It eventually disappears, but when it's around, there's no telling who (or what) you'll run into.

Blood Drive

Lots of nooks and crannies highlight this enormous map, which also features some great sniping positions. Despite its name, however, players refuse to donate blood willingly.

Day One

What was once a thriving and enjoyable city (complete with Family Fun Center) is now a haven for Locust activity. While not the largest map, you can always take refuge behind a hollowed out vehicle.

Hail

Like Avalanche, Hail has some nasty weather and you don't want to get caught out in the open. Razor hail has a tendency to slice through whatever it touches, so we strongly suggest you haul *** inside until it stops.

Jancinto

Mankind's last great city is under siege, but with plenty of places to hide, you'll get the jump on your unsuspecting prey. Either that or they'll chainsaw you.

Pavilion

Go ahead and take a stroll up Pavilion's staircases, paying special attention to the multicolored leaves. Also, look out for grenades. You're liable to walk right into a trap.

River

In River, it's all about holding the bridge and sitting tight within one of its cabins, which are perfect for sniping. Just peek out from behind a window and... oops... you got shot in the face.

Security

Watch out for those lasers. You can flip them off and pick up a mulcher or a mortar, depending on where you are on the map. But when the alarm sounds, make sure you're not standing in their path. Otherwise, you'll be in pieces.

Ruins

Even the Locusts have their own map. While blasting enemies in Ruins, be sure to admire the Locust architecture, especially the liberal use of human bones.

Stasis

We can't help but snicker at this map, since it plays an important role in the single player campaign. We'd love to tell you what sorts of things reside in the giant glass containers in this map if you haven’t done the campaign but you will have to play it to find out.

Dirty, Dirty Horde 20 G
Survive the first 10 waves of Horde (any difficulty, any map)

See “Hoard the Horde”

Hoard the Horde 30 G
Survive all 50 waves of Horde (any difficulty, any map)

Now Horde isn’t a joke. It's one of the hardest things in the game. Even on Casual it's tuff.

Wave 1 is easy with 3 or 4 drones and some wretches coming at you, but when you get to Wave 8 or 9 you got like 4 Boomers 3 Grinders Boomers, 3 Mauler Boomers coming at you and also Theron Guards with there Torque Bows... it's, it's just crazy..

But the best thing about it, once you complete a wave you can always restart at that wave, plus you can do it on Casual too.

Every 10 waves, the enemies get harder.
So once you hit Wave 11 (or 21, 31, 41,) it goes back to 3 or 4 drones and some wretches
but they are way tougher to kill. They can take more damage and do more damage…

So to get these achievements, just keep playing it on Casual and build up to the later waves.8, 9 and 10 are the harder ones. So if you doing it solo as soon as it starts, run around and grab the 'power weapons' on what ever map your playing and camp somewhere. We recommended to doing it on River and grab the Boomshot and Frags then run for your life to the sniper building. Stay in there and let them come to you.

You'll need to switch it up once and a while though cause you'll run out of ammo real quick. So when you kill a boomer with a Boomshield take it and use it. When you kill a boomer with an Organ Grinder, use it. Plus when you reach the end of a wave and there's 1 enemy left, leave him alive and go out and restock on ammo and 'power weapons' because as soon as you kill the last one the next wave kicks in.

You'll have your back against the wall fighting for your life from start to finish.
10 to 32 enemies against you….. Have fun.

This is way easier with friends though and you can have you and 4 buddies helping you though each wave. Use the same method above but with whatever map you want but split your team up into groups of 2 or one group of 2 and one of 3. We recommended you do this with friends or anybody that will do it with you.

Another Method

If u have about 3 hours of your life to play with 5 friends or just over XBOX Live then you can complete Horde in 3 Hours. That’s how we did it.

We started off with 3 friends and we joined a Horde match online from level 1 on casual. Now each level increases in size. Level 6-10 have the most Enemies but it doesn't mean they get harder to beat, the count is just higher. After level 10 & 40 the enemies get harder because a bar comes up saying that they do. So that’s the enemy part.

Now the level we played on was Security. It's the one with the lasers at the top. Basically everyone stays in that one area because it is easy to kill all enemies and easy to revive fallen soldiers. When you are down to one enemy!!!DO NOT KILL HIM!!! What you do now is every one goes out of this one area except for one so they can get back in, is to collect ammo for the next wave. Until every one is ready, Kill the last enemy and get ready for the next Wave.

Now the one trick that we picked up was that you can plant Boomshields to help you out a lot. Hold the left trigger then press A to place. Just don't place them anywhere though, where you want to put them is right before the lasers on your side of the lasers so u can cover behind it and it also stops enemies from coming in, but they can kick them down so watch out. It’s funny to see the maulers stand there and the lasers kill them for you, so that’s pretty cool too. Before the level ends make sure you pick the Boomshields because weapons disappear after a while, so pick them up, get your ammo then kill the last guy.

So here are the Steps:
#1: Get Five Guys and Play Horde on Casual, or what ever
#2: Select Security As your Level
#3: Make Your Way Up to the Top Of the Level where the Lasers Are
#4: When Ever You Get The Chance to Get a Boomshield Grab It
#5: Don't Kill Last Enemy, Pick up Ammo and Boomshields Then Kill Him
#6: Next level Plant Boomshields and KILL
#7: Repeat #3-#6

Crossed Swords 10 G
Win 10 chainsaw duels (any mode)

To chainsaw duel an enemy both of you must be holding down the B button at the same time with both your lancers equipped, facing each other and near each other. Now both of your chainsaws will clash in a short cut scene and a prompt will come up saying to hit the B button. You must push the B button more times than your foe before the cut scene ends and who ever presses it the most will win the chainsaw duel. (You must win a chainsaw duel 10 times to get this achievement.)

A Parting Gift 20 G
Kill 10 enemies with a grenade while down but not out (any mode)

I got this one by playing a 15 round (15 incase you mess up a few times) execution match on any map really. Just make all the weapons Frags. Then start the match with 1 bot or just plug in another controller and but a person in. Quickly run to the closest frags then just hold a frag in your hand and run at your enemy. As soon as he puts you down press the right trigger button and you will let off a frag right after you drop. You have to be close enough to the enemy though because the frag goes off right next to you and kills you both. Rinse and repeat on the next rounds couple of rounds.

Pound of Flesh 10 G
Use a meatshield to save your life 10 times (any mode)

You must find an enemy who is down and take him hostage by pressing the A button will near him. Then if you block a shot with the hostage body that would have normally killed you for example if someone shot a boomshot at you and it hit you would blow up but if someone shot a hostage you were holding then the hostage body you were using would explode but you would be un harmed, thus the meatshield saving your life.

Photojournalist 10 G
Submit a spectator photo

When you’re in a multiplayer games (local, system link, private or public) just die. Once you die you will go into "spectator mode" press B to take a photo. Now go to the main menu and go to war journal, then choose photos. Pick the picture you want to upload and press Y and then the achievement should pop up

Kick 'Em when they’re Down 10 G
Perform all 11 unique executions on a downed enemy

For the achievement you must do the following:

Curb Stomp
To do a curb stomp you must be standing beside a downed enemy and press the X button. (To perform this execution on someone you need to hurt an enemy to the point were they fall to there knees)

Lancer Chainsaw Executions (You need to do both ways to get the achievement)

(Regular) To chainsaw an enemy regularly you must be beside them or in front of them and be holding down the B button with your lancer equipped to raise your chainsaw bayonet.

(Behind) To chainsaw an enemy from behind you must be behind them and be holding down the B button with your lancer equipped to raise your chainsaw bayonet.

Lancer Chainsaw Duel

To chainsaw duel an enemy both of you must be holding down B at the same time with you lancers equipped and be facing each other. Now both of your chainsaws will clash in a short cut scene and a prompt will come up saying to hit the B button. You must push the B button more times than your foe before the cut scene ends and who ever pressed B the most will win the chainsaw duel. (You must win the chainsaw duel to do the unique execution.)

1-2-3 Punch

To do a 1-2-3 Punch also known as the beat down, you must be standing beside a downed enemy and press the X button. (To perform this execution on someone you need to hurt an enemy to the point were they fall to there knees)

Great guide, first one I've come across on all of the interwebs.

For Horde I played at Blood Drive. You spawn in a room at the top of a double-set of stairs, so get a few kills right in the beginning. Nearly always these first kills will be on the big guys: grinders, boomers, or the guys with a Boomshield and mace. After I took out a few of them, I quickly grabbed one of their mulchers and brought it back up the stairs and to the room OPPOSITE the one you spawn in [a Boltok pistol is in this room]. I drop it in that room and then went back to find a Boomshield; pick it up and bring it back to the room, but plant it directly in the middle a few feet away from the door INSIDE the room. This way, when all of the enemies come to you, they won't be able to get past the shield; it should also be close to the door so you can plant your mulcher on the ground behind it and still be able to aim up high enough to hit your enemies. Here their weapons will amass when they are killed so you will always have enough ammo of some type of gun. There are also little pillars on each sides of the room, so you can still take cover to reload/regain health.

And for Crossed Swords: I setup a game with a second controller and no bots. Take the controller you want the achievement for and head to your opponent's spawn. Approach your opponent [the character of the second controller], hold RT, and the cut scene should automatically start without you holding RT with the second controller. Hit the B button with the first controller a bunch of times and then quickly switch to the second controller and hit it a few times [it doesn't matter how many for each controller, as long as the character unlocking the achievement hits it more times]. And yes, each controller needs to hit the B button at least once for it to unlock; the second controller cannot just go untouched, it needs to be "active" in the duel.

Any Body Know How To Glitch The Seriously 2.0 Achievement??
If Sothen Let me Know Please Thats Like The Only Hard Achievement I Need To Get!:.(xx

I Found that if you do Horde on 'Day One` its alot easier i found because that you have two vantage points Above the Casino's you can block the stairs with a boom sheild and you also have a respawn of the sniper & Torque Bow on one side and on the other side you have a spawn point for the Hammer of dawn & The Mulcher.
You have an amazing vantage point over the whole map so you can take those sun of a *****es out as they spawn, You also have the advantage of using probibly the best weapons in the game.

Hope this mini guide helps. ---->:D:D:w00t::D:D<----
