Mine does the same.
I can't say I have found a fix for certain myself, but laying it on its side whilst being in a cooled area seems to work.

Its the little rubber ring that acts as a belt for the drive, it gets so hot it starts to slip on the pulley wheel thing, near melting.

You could either replace that, or get one of those cooler systems at the back of your 360 and hope for the best.

Those things are horrible they blow air where the air is trying to come out, it just makes the system hotter.

If your going to cool it down get whisper max fans and install it and a core cooler v2 if your xbox is burning up maybe that will fix it.

Does it sound like the disk drive is spinning? If the drive is spinning, it's a laser problem most likely. If the drive isn't spinning, there could be a gear mechanism problem.

If you decide you need a tutorial on replacing the laser, ask. I have one.
