well i know i have now established myself as an annoying noob... but is there a way to mod wii games like mariokart??

Yes, there is something called Trucha-Signing. However, the 3.3 update fixed it. You could hex edit games and then Trucha-Sign them, such as in SSBB, you could swap character moves. Sweet right?
