So what is your setup like? Are you using 2 ethernet ports?

So you highlight both connections then right click and click bridge connections? That should be all you have to do. Try uninstalling your ethernet port then re-installing it.

What you are attempting to do is bridge an adapter that recieves a public ip address from the modem with an adapter that will most likely have a private ip belonging to your local network. This is possible but not in any way recomended. For security reasons and ease of administration ICS is the best choice for your situation. You can pm me if you want me to explain further what the potential risks and headaches of bridging this setup would be. You have already stumbled across one of the hurdles a bridge creates when used for this type of application and if you are adamant about the use of a bridge you will experience more annoying issues which you will have to resolve before you will achieve connectivity with the bridged setup.

Its mostly just copied and pasted from a Microsoft site...

BUT

Go to run>cmd>ipconfig/all
What do you see? Screen Print if you can, then post the pic.

Next, go to the main connection>properties>advanced tab>Allow other networks to use this connection. That will pretty much ICS your connection.

Good Luck,
Sno

Actually none of my reply is copied or pasted from anywhere. Since you claim that it is however why dont you post a link here in this forum to the M$ site that I plagerized? Or you could go out and get any MCSE or CCNA Essentials/Fundamentals study guide and learn about the basics of networking for yourself. I assure you that you would gain a much more complete understanding of what it is you are offering the gentleman requesting help here advice about. Since you apparently hold your current halo 2 cheating tutorials certification, I will step down and refrain from offering any further help. Oh and one question, why go to the cmd shell and run ipconfig/all? To see what ip addresses his nic's are being assigned? Why waste the time? Do you have a tutorial on wasting time through unnecessary steps? If so Please link me to that as well. That would come in very handy at work when things are getting hectic and we are behind schedule. I could just show my supervisor the tutorial..... oh wait nvm that wouldn't work. Oh well I guess it was worth the try.

make sure that for the ethernet connection that goes to your xbox is a crossover cable...if you don't know where to get one just go to....Cables To Go - Computer Cables, Audio Video Cables, DVI Cables, USB Cables, PC to TV, KVMs, Cat5E, Video Splitters, and more!

liv 2 play live,
if you are still experiencing problems with your setup send me a msg, I can have you up and running in about 10 min if that. The reason the bridge is not working is a simple one but once again I would suggest that you run ICS. If you msg me I will outline the reasons why I suggest this. And one other offer of help to any of you out there if you have difficulty joining some of your friends rooms I can also help you resolve that. I don't really endorse or condone cheating as we would all be a lot better off without it but it is the way of the game. M$ has allowed it to grow into what it is and now it will not go away. I have simply learned to accept it as a part of the game. The really crap news here is that Halo 3 will have the same or very similar networking code as Halo 2. The only plus is it will be on the 360 not the regular xbox which is a better platform to cheat from. The reason they cite for not going with dedicated servers is they simply can not afford them. As a result, I simply can not afford to buy a 360 or halo 3. What a crock of **** eh? M$ can't afford it. LOL ok. Anyways sorry to anyone I have pissed off here as I just get annoyed at some of the nonsense that people post. Giving advice on a subject you are familiar with is one thing but when you don't have a clue, that is another. One other point of interest to all who bridge. M$ is watching you. There is a simple way to avoid being watched if you know it then you can pretty much run amuck the only fear you have is feedback from other users. If you don't know it then you will likely be suspended for booting/standbying if you are doing it. Has anyone else noticed what they are doing to monitor this? I would love to hear what people have to say on that. Anyways peace all and goodwill in gaming. I was on a mad *** bent mission to take out all cheaters I encountered in my daily gaming, it has ended as I am tired of having to be vigilant in every damn game I enter. It has made Halo more like a job then a fun way to pass the time. Honestly I don't care about my level and I don't understand why so many people do. Don't you all remember when the game was fun? Do you have fun when in a game and someone is team standbying and you are not in their firewalls trusted zone? Even if they are on your team it sucks as you can not do anything. I don't know about any of you but, that isn't much fun for me. I am not trying to put anyone down as I am sure people have reasons for whatever they do, I just would like to see the game be fun again. Anyways hit me up if you need some help with whatever, I prolly wont be posting here much anymore but will check back for messages every so often. Take care all and try to have some fun at the game ;)
