iv did some test with my lag switch and hosting stuff and i figured out how u will become host 90% or 100% of the time, even after u get the update. NOTE wat ever kind of match u r about 2 do make sure u have friends who r going 2 do it. so 4 example...team tactical, have 2-5 people waiting 4 ur invite.

1: make a lag switch or have something on ur pc that will kill ur internet.
choices that could work r
bit comet running but not downloading or downloading 0kb/s
lime wire/frost wire downloading a huge file that is 500mb or more
or anything else u have that will kill ur internet.
2: have ur friends waiting in a lobby.
3: search in wat ever match u want 2 do.
4: as soon as it says "GETTING MATCH QUALITY" kill ur internet, by using the items listed above or ur own or turn ur lag switch 2 off.
5: keep killing ur internet until it says "waiting for more players to join the game". u now need 2 shut down those programs or the lag switch so ur internet is fine again. ull be the first 1 there.
6: immediately invite ur friends who r waiting for u.
7: make sure the party is full.
8: At the top it will say finding best host. "it might not, but either way ur not the host caz of ur connection from earlier. thats ok tho.
9:Now here is where u have 2 options.
1:u can either tell every1 to leave or
2: let the game start and pray that ur the host.
Lets say u choose option 1.

option 1: tell every1 to back out "leave" the game. that way u will automatically be host because earlier it was finding the best host, but now that every1 left it has no choice but 2 pick u!:D . Now invite them back and let the match start or wait 4 random people 2 join and start.

option 2: This is a really easy option. Let the game start. When its counting down c if ur the host by hitting the "back" button and see who ever got the full green bars first or during the countdown or right after, kill ur internet again and if it doesn't say connection interrupted then ur the host:D If u r not the host then let the game run and let it start another match and c if ur the host again. if u get bored of doing this option because u never get to be host then try option 1.

10: get ur kills, points, and or challenges done

p.s if u r trying 2 get to 10th prestige quick, then i would recommend doing search and destroy with this tut.

good obhservation but the chances of u getting host bc of that are still slim because many people have really good connections but i know a way to get host 100% of the time without leaving a match in any playlist and i don't need anyone to get it i just get it on my own some how and i have the crappiest connection in the world its almost like dial up because i always lag in h3 and never get host in that

it might work for them but my way takes 2 secs to get host every game i8 standby and everything som,etimes but mostly when im not warmed up then i play legit when i standby i use them for target practice its fun and it does help u get alot better

Why doesn't everyone just use Cain and Abel and Zone Alarm Pro. If you use those programs the right way, you get host every game with no problem. Thats what I always do whether I'm playing legit or standbying. Come on, lag switch are you serious? Theres a button right on the Zone Alarm interface that says Stop Internet. Look it up, there are many tut's on this site on how to use those programs. Most are in the Halo 2 Section. As a matter of fact, I'll get you the links myself

i put the lag switch right onto my controller so its easy 4 me. besides my computers no wear near the 360. and im not going 2 move it so don't ask. the tut i made is just another way. i thought it would be helpful 4 some ppl who don't want 2 use zone alram or they just want 2 try another way like me. iv tried those ways before, but 4 me this way i really simple. i really dont want 2 argue im just hear trying 2 help thats all.
