Real Halo 3 mods explanation AIO

I am going to make a all in one thread of all the information I have given out so far so the same questions will not be asked.
What has happened? XeNoN7 and I have found a way to modify Halo 3.
You must have a XDK right? No we do not use a stock XDK, We use a Demo Kit.
So then you must have a Halo 3 map resigner? No Halo 3 is near impossible to hack without a way of running homebrew it is a slim to none chance there will ever be a Halo 3 map resigner.
Then what did you use? A stock Xbox360 with minimal XDK parts (known as a demo kit).
Then how does it run homebrew did you use the hypervisor exploit? No unfortunately it is much more complicated then that. There is hardware involved. You may or may not already know but there is another way to make your stock 360 run homebrew with parts from another system, What system you may ask? A xbox development kit. It is possible to create a Devkit out of your own stock xbox360 with a few devkit parts making it a hybrid xbox360 which is a code name we used. Hybrids official names are "demo kits".
Not much is known about the "building" of a demo kit only upgrading. It is suspected that a simple NAND and CPU swap can convert a Stock to a Demo Kit. This has yet to be tested.
Cool how do I upgrade my 360 to a hybrid? (update)
Its a xbox360 upgraded with XDK parts. Unfortunately the only way to do this is have unused parts for the xbox360 and build your own only 2$ of the population knows how to do it outside of microsoft. Microsoft is the one who build demo kits I know 3 people with upgraded xbox360s to XDK which is a hybrid (which was the nickname I gave for a demo kit) of two different versions of xbox360 parts. The software however takes on the form of xdk. We still not going to give out information where we received the parts nor how it is made. (I myself really don't even have the basics of building one, only micrsoft really does). In short its a upgraded xbox360 with xdk software.
For such a complicated system you sound like you know nothing about it. XeNoN7 on the contrary does, however he had a friend supply the parts for him and XeNoN7 upgraded the software himself with a disk which is hidden from the public made only for devs. However he seems to know a lot about the process.
So how exactly did you get the mods to work? Despite what many may think having a XDK or a Demo Kit doesn't make maps automatically load. Instead XeNoN7 and I worked on a rather beautiful tool that real time halo's the mods in through the network!
Thats cool but hasn't this been done before? No the last instance of halo 3 moding was used on a STOCK XDK with a edited xex to run halo 3 maps off the hardrive without flagging them down for not having the correct signature. This was done by kornman, this isn't the same method.
Is this tool like engineer? Our tool makes engineer look like dothalo compared to entity. XeNoN7 made sure it did everything correctly and allowed meta to be read beyond map and made it so tons more tags were labeled and the features on it are amazing. I assisted in the debugging and fine tuning of the app. I also brainstormed Ideas for drastic improvement that has made it into the app itself.
How does this help me? XeNoN7/Veegie will be releasing plugins and other things from the app on halomods.
Does the app let me mod my maps and run them? No you will need to wait for a custom homebrew kernel to come out (if one is even in development). and no I'm not talking about an exploitable kernel. I am talking about a kernel edited by modders to run homebrew right off the dash. This is the safest way for mods to be accomplished while keeping xbox live safe.

real mods don't consist of xbox live. so you wanna show your friends your rocket-firing magnum, great. that is a very skilled mod ...
and lulz at shadowlag. ppl are asking the same questions you have answered :P

I am now announcing my resignation from the project. XeNoN7 and I have met at a HUGE disagreement and we will no longer be working together. He is now working with Anth0ny.
Kind of figures..
Who would buy a bunch of parts to mod halo 3?
I wouldn't.. soft-ware mods are just better and I doubt we get those anytime soon.

Might I ask what the dissagreement was about?
And another thing, I dont really see the point of you releasing Plugins for a program to help mod Halo 3, if you wont release how you even did it lol
And FYI, the modders who cheat wouldnt go out of their way to buy all the stuff needed to mod

lol in order to resign the map, you would have to magically find the RSA private key and modulus, and then be able to encrypt the SHA1 hash of the map from 0x3000 to EOF, and write that the the certificate section of the map. good luck doing that as it's RSA 2048.

lol that's what people said when they realized they couldn't directly edit halo 2 maps... but guess what!
Guess what? Use your eyes and look at how easy Halo 2's checksum is to calculate... And then look at RSA private and public key methods...You won't be able to have a resigner...Yet again, fantasizing people.Halo 3 mods technically cannot be done on retail unless you do what we've done...But then again... No normal person can do it. Infact only a certain group in the world can. Will it be let out? Nope...Don't want cheaters.Once unsigned code is run on the 360 sure me and anthony will release a patch for the XEX that'll let you mod. But itll also ban you from live...And mine and shad0ws way won't be given away probably... To my choice.
Shad0w nor I nor Anthony know the resigner code... But we can get rid of the code in the XEX that checks signatures on maps so you wouldn't need to resign...
halolordkiller3 you're not cool... No one has the key... At all... I can bet anyone here any amount of money... Only one guy knows it, and he works for Bungie... And he won't ever leak it... Trust me.

so... all i have is the modulus and public exponent, and info on what hash is used, and where it is stored. I just need to factor this modulus, and we're all set. The problem is that will take forever since most computers have a hard time factoring a 630-byte number that was derived from a 256-byte (512-byte hex) modulus.
and the sad thing was that it took months to sign halo 3 since nobody knew why it wouldn't run. But now we know exactly what is protecting the map, and so it won't take too long. and just look, after around a week anthony and i have the public keypair. By factoring the modulus into all of it's primes, it won't be too long till the private keypair is found.

The plugins will help people mod halo 3 cuz they will work for engineer or any modding program that is designed to use them. and once someone publically releases a signing method OR a way to run unsigned code, people can start playing their mods.

It sounds like you truly have figured it all out. I can't wait until this patch is released. (Hopefully soon.) I wonder how long it will be until it is possible to mod Halo 3...
