Wireless Bridging With Mac OS X
Tutorial by Krafty

Jeeze-flippin christ, what kept you?
Life. Believe or not I have one outside the forums. But I gave credit to the two who made the first tutorials. I finally got it to work.

Well, if they made one, whats the point of this?
There we're some parts I didnt understand, this is just a noob-proof in-depth guide.

Whatever dude, what do I need?
You need a wireless connection via Airport & a ethernet cable to your Xbox/360.

So the setup is?
Ethernet Cable -> Ethernet Port of your Mac
Make sure wireless connection is active.

Am I ready?
Hell if I know, im starting...

Step 1:
Open System Preferences
Posted Image

Step 2:
Under "Internet & Network," Click "Sharing"
Posted Image

Step 3:
Now, select "Internet"
Posted Image

Step 4:
Make sure "Built-in Ethernet" is checked, then press start

Step 5:
Now, go to your Hard Drive -> Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
Posted Image

Step 6:
Now, in terminal, type in "ifconfig en0" (Last character is a Zero).
Posted Image

Step 7:
Near the section where it says "ether," look for something along the lines of "inet xxx.xxx.x.x"

I picked up 198.162.2.1

Now look for the next IP after it, which is your router. Mines was 192.168.0.1

Step 8:
Now I did this on a 360, so for Xbox users you shouldn't be any different.

Go to "network settings"
You will need to manually put in the IPs
Go to -> Manual
Set to IP +1 of your inet. So using the one I got, input 192.168.2.2

Subnet should be 255.255.255.0 be default

Gateway should be 192.168.0.1

For 360 users, your going to have to test your connections to save the changes, just say "test xbox live" and then cancel when its testing.

Step 9:
Under DNS, input your wireless router. So for me, it would be 192.168.0.1 for both Primary & Secondary.

Now, do the same, "Test" then cancel.
Leave PPPoE and the other thing alone.

Now try testing the connections and it should work all the way through.

What you will need is DoorStop X

Serial: 29106595842145

Step 1:
Under the list of services, (The Bigger List), press "new" (the one on the left)
Posted Image

Step 2:
Now that window should pop up. Under port number, put "3074" and name it "Halo 2" or "I Need 2 Cheat 4 Rank" or...moving on....
Posted Image

Step 3:
Now press "Ok"
Now it should show up in the list of services.
Now, select it and press the "new" button to the right (under the shorter list)
Posted Image

Step 4:
Do this 3 times,
1st time: enter "65.59.234.161"
2nd time: enter xbox IP, in this case "192.168.2.2."
3rd time: enter your friends IP
Posted Image

Step 5:
Now, go up to the Preferences, go to the "Advanced" tab, and make sure it looks just like this

Posted Image

Step 6:
Once your done with that, Make sure your friend has made the party, once he has, join his party.
Then, above the list of IPs, switch it to "Allow Acces From Only Addresses In List"
Posted Image
And then, press "Start," and if you have followed this tutorials correctly, your friend should be bridged. To turn it off, when you press start, it will say "Stop," just press "Stop" to urn the bridge off.

Hope that helped

then, everytime I hit start, the person I'm bridging ALWAYS lags out.

PLEASE help me out.

It said my IP was not confirmed. I am on mac of course, and after I typed in config en0, I got this:

"inet6 fe80::217:f2ff:fec8:954c%en0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x4
inet 169.254.13.165 netmask 0xffff0000 broadcast 169.254.255.255
ether 00:17:f2:c8:95:4c
media: autoselect (100baseTX ) status: active
"
are those numbers right? is the first 169 number an IP and the next 169 my router? i'm confused here....

Just a little more information if you could help out...

My setup is cable modem into my airport (Which I am using as my router) laptop streams off the airport and I have my xbox 360 plugged into my laptop with the ethernet cable. I changed the mtu settings for en0 and en1 in terminal to 1500 and tried 1364 and 1365, still no luck , Changed the MTU in system preferences to 1500 which is default and it still says MTU failed. If anyone could get back to me with some suggestions I would be greatful, BTW my aim is IXI INFERN0 IXI (zero).

Why does my MTU fail and how can I change this from happening???

I got this to work and wanted to say thanks to Krafty and luisgarcia87 I have given you both thanks on all your post for these 2 threads. now I can try to get that petrovic achievement again. pain in the ***.

Door stop keeps telling me this is an old password and will not work:cursing:

""It appears you have entered a serial number for an older version of DoorStop. Please check Open Door Networks - Macintosh Internet Security for details on how to upgrade.""
