Not a fan of Kinect? Well you’re not alone, the Kinect accessory for the Xbox One has been widely disliked by most customers and fans of Xbox, even the ones who have yet to purchase the console (funnily enough, this is most likely because of the Kinect). Well, fret no longer! The newly released news that the Xbox One will receive a price drop and in turn lose the Kinect in the package was fantastic for most people waiting to purchase. If that wasn’t enough, it has emerged that the Xbox is more powerful without Kinect!

"Yes, the additional resources allow access to up to 10 percent additional GPU performance," said a company representative. "We're committed to giving developers new tools and flexibility to make their Xbox One games even better by giving them the option to use the GPU reserve in whatever way is best for them and their games."

As well as this, Xbox will be releasing a brand new SDK for developers this month, meaning they will be able to utilize the resources previously used up by the Kinect, thus resulting in a more powerful GPU to work with. This news comes right after Phil Spencer confirmed that the GPU would receive additional bandwith in one of his tweets.

It would seem Xbox is working for the better here, giving developers more tools to work with and making the system better overall. It’s a shame that this increase in power requires you to lose the Kinect entirely, as some people have grown accustomed to it (I know I have). As well as this though, the June update dropped recently for Xbox One, so be sure to check that out, as you can now utilize external storage! Will you people who don’t own an Xbox finally get around to purchasing one after learning this news?
