The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an upcoming action role-playing open-world video game. It is currently in development by Polish video game developer CD Projekt RED and is said to be released May 19 this year for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Two new expansion packs have been announced and one of which is set to release later this year. This was announced by CD Projekt RED on Tuesday. The names of the new DLC are Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.

The first expansion pack, to be released October this year, Hearts of Stone, includes locations called "No Mans Land" and "Oxenfurt". Players get to take on quests from the "mysterious Man of Glass." CD Projekt Red say this new content is around 10 hours worth of gameplay. "Caught in a thick tangle of deceit, Geralt will need all his cunning and strength to solve the mystery and emerge unscathed," is what they say about this downloadable content.

The second part to the new downloadable content, is to be released the first quarter of 2016, is called Blood and Wine and is estimated to provide around 20 hours of gameplay, differing much from the first DLC release, more than likely the reason to why it's not being released any time soon. It is set in a different, and new, location called "Toussaint". Unlike the first DLC, nothing much has to be said about it yet, unsurprisingly enough. The only thing they do have to say about it however is that the content will "take Geralt to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret."

Both of the new packs will include new enemies along with new gear, also included are some characters who are "new and dearly missed." The developers of the promise that the expansion packs have been made with maximum quality and attention to detail. Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine will be sold together, however, the price is unknown. Co-founder Marcin Iwinski said that "Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are truly significant add-ons that could rival some full, standalone games," after CD Projekt Red criticized paid downloadable content in the past.

What are your thoughts on the DLC? Unfortunately, no images or videos have been released yet but from what I've heard, they sound exciting, especially with the new characters, gear and enemies that are included. Leave your comments below.
