A game that has been riddled with bugs and glitches since its release is facing more controversy after its recent 1.07 patch. Reports have been flooding in over the weekend of frame rate dropping immensely in specific areas of the map, and also during battles, reducing the game to single-frames comparable to the extreme issues that were ruining Battlefield 4 for over a year after its release.
It looks as though this new update is causing more problems than it's fixing, as is seemingly the case with many console patches nowadays. PC users, however, have apparently come across a stroke of luck, missing out on the frame rate issues that console players are experiencing. CD Projekt Red is widely regarded as a PC developer, which may come into play when looking at these recent problems. Besides a minor glitch in the achievement system, PC doesn't seem to be affected at all. It is worth noting that the patch came with a wide range of improvements that actually work. The new movement system makes Geralt and his horse easier to maneuver, weapon stats are rebalanced, the inventory system overhauled and not to mention the plethora of bug fixes that reinforce the game overall.
Developers are attending to these matters and will hopefully have a fix soon. If you'd like to know some of the new features and what the latest update is supposed to fix, you can see the full patch notes here.
