Sony announced, via a newsletter sent out by e-mail, some of the games that would be coming to PlayStation Plus users in the month of January. The full list of games was released later today, it is now known that both Grim Fandango Remastered and Hardware: Rivals will be available on the PlayStation 4 to PlayStation Plus members starting next month. Members on the PlayStation 3 will get access to Dragon Age: Origins as well as Medal of Honor Warfighter. The PlayStation Vita will have Legends of War Patton and Nihilumbra.

Releasing on the PS4 is Grim Fandango Remastered which, as the name suggests, is a remastered version of the original Grim Fandango released in 1998 by LucasArts. The game received universal acclaim and has ended up on numerous "best games of all-time" lists from many publications and gaming sites. Grim Fandango Remastered was released on January 27, 2015 and features the same gameplay from the original with its adventure and puzzle style of gameplay. New to the remastered version is modernized graphics and textures as well as a fully orchestrated score.

Hardware: Rivals is the next game revealed in the newsletter, which is actually being released on January 5, 2016. The game is a vehicular combat game and the successor to Hardware: Online Arena. A public beta was available from September 30 to October 19 earlier this year, where players learned a great deal about the game such as the types of vehicles in the game, the maps that players can use, as well as the different game modes that will be available.

Coming to the PlayStation 3 is Dragon Age: Origins, developed by BioWare. It is the classical entry into the Dragon Age series and has been heralded as one of the best games in the franchise. The action RPG was praised for its well-told story and action-packed combat. Though it was released back in 2009, RPG fans are sure to enjoy any time spent on this game, especially if it's being played for nostalgia's sake.

Medal of Honor Warfighter is the sequel to Medal of Honor, which was a reboot of the series released in 2010. The shooter picks up where the first game leaves off, but despite this, it was received as a commercial failure. It may be worth playing for Medal of Honor enthusiasts, but given its reception, it may not be worth trying out if it's a game that's not been played before.

As for the PlayStation Vita games, Nihilumbra is up first. Developed by BeautiFun Games for iOS back in June of 2012, the game has since been ported to many different platforms. The puzzle platformer has had a positive reception since its release on each platform, including the PlayStation Vita version which was released earlier this year.

Legends of War is a turn-based strategy game first released in 2010. The game pits players as certain military leaders across time and history. Legends of War Patton was well-received as a portable game, as well as its console releases.

Now after getting my hands on Grim Fandango and playing it for a couple hours..

I freaking love this game. Successful in pulling me away from Fallout 4 / gta v for hours today.

The game deserves a sequel and I really hope there is one in the works.

Tbh i would like any good games like the Sly series, Fifa, Need for speed, JC (Just Cause) or any top games instead of these chinese and Japanese games that i've never heard of. They don't exactly give out good games...

Played the Beta of Hardware Rivals and it was awesome. A refreshing change to the crap usually posted in PSN Plus Games. The Beta didn't have that many people playing it, but hopefully the full game will.

Anyone else get the feeling that Microsoft's Xbox community are being pampered in comparison to Playstation's? The games may be reasonable yes, however, Xbox One typically get far better and well known "games with gold".
Making me want to trade in my Playstation.

I honestly stick with the PS4 because it has better graphics.( Or Ps3 )

Honestly, the graphics between the two are so close. I'm surprised you don't play on PC if you love graphics so much. This gen of consoles it goes like this with graphics: PS4=Xbone > Wii U

But PC beats all with 4K resolution and beautiful graphics that looks realistic.

That's true... but im more of a console gamer than a PC gamer... I play PC every once in a while but not all the time

Hardware: Rivals looks good I suppose, seems like another Rocket League which eventually got boring after a short period of time. But still free so can't complain really. As for the others... meh... would be nice to get some slightly better older games, such as Killzone Shadowfall or The Order, or even Wolfenstein.

    One word, AWESOME!

Hardware Rivals is such a good game, really enjoyed the beta back in October and now that we get it for free, sweeeeeet.

Never played Grim Fandango, but seen it on sale plenty of times but I was too busy with other games to worry about buying it. Can't wait to give it a try next week, it looks pretty good.
