PlayStation Now has been released to North American PS4 console owners and certainly has had its pros and cons. With over a month's release since the beta was opened publicly. We're already hearing some new rumors with brand new titles hitting the streaming service soon. Retro gamers will certainly love the update as it'll contain games from previous PlayStation consoles which includes the PS1, PS2, and the already available PS3 games.

Allowing the rental service with much more variety in terms of different generation consoles, will certainly be more appealing to users of the service. No known titles have been confirmed that will be coming with this near future update. Sony Entertainment Network's Vice President, Eric Lempel hinted at the possibilities the service has in store for us real soon:

In fact in our plans going forward we’re looking at everything so there’s the real possibility that you’ll see PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 4 titles available. Right now it’s just PlayStation 3, but these are all options for the future.
Another interesting topic that came up during this interview, was the monthly purchase similar to Sony's PlayStation Plus. Lempel stated “I wouldn’t rule it out. I’d say it’s really early for us now”. I feel that that if Sony was to make this move, the service would be praised more rather than be criticized.

Previously stated, the feedback from many gamers hasn't been the most positive either. Many users complain about certain issues that the beta currently offers. Many of the problems have been with the steaming itself, this includes latency issues and prices. Pricing hasn't had the most ideal response from the PlayStation community, with games such as F1 2013 which allows the consumer to rent the game for 90 days with a shocking price tag of $49.99. This outrages many gamers as they can head to any game store and purchase a physical copy of the same price, but the user would be able to play it forever rather than rent it. However, not every single game is considered a terrible deal, PlayStation publications such as Killzone 3 allow for a great rental service of seven days for a mere $7.99. Sony's Eric Lempel replied stating, “These prices are ultimately decided on by the participating developers and publishers”. Pricing was not the only flaw in the service, latency wasn't the strongest as many users with regularly good internet speeds are sometimes unable to use the service. Generally speaking since it's still in a beta version, players can expect a flaw in the latency which we all hope to see being fixed in future updates.

PlayStation Now is only available to North American PS4 owners. Don't worry if the PlayStation Now beta isn't available in your region as Sony will be releasing the service in the future for European users starting with the United Kingdom in 2015.

Tell me Se7ensinners, will you be interested in previous PlayStation titles being present with PlayStation Now?
